Can't see it myself!! Wasn't he let go when the new owner came in?? For me it would be a pointless switch to go back, you guys have as much chance of success as they do!! He would be better channelling his energy to proving the owner at The Valley wrong!!

I guess last season they didn't want to go down, they didn't. Cue another change of coach this season and they want to go up - well like us they are neither up nor down at the moment but are a good run of results from being near or in the play-off's and another poor run from being in the pooh. So what makes them think they are that special? Lot of good teams and clubs with more recent history of being in the Prem than Charlton doing a lot worse than them in this Division.
Bournemouth are where they are because they are spending a fortune in wages, likewise Ipswich and probably Brentford - don't make the mistake of thinking that because they maybe haven't spent much on transfer fees and they don't get the crowds we do (not counting Ipswich) they don't have a wage bill that makes ours look like loose change. Not sure how much Charlton are spending compared to Town but it wouldn't take long to find out.
Think t'onorary Yorkshire bloke will be with us for a while yet. I doubt they could convince Curbs to come back (was it really '96 when he quit?) or even the Empty Chair currently in charge of the Chickens. Current owner appears to like to bring in foreign players that t'onorary Yorkshire bloke wan't too impressed with, so he'll likely go down the foreign coach route again until the penny drops (see Watford Internationale's performance in the cold wind and snow last Saturday).

The fans would welcome Powell back no problem...but the owners wouldn't dream of it.
I can see someone like a Martin Jol or Felix Magath going there.

I doubt Powell would ever want to work under that regime again; indeed, I'm sure that Town's workings behind the scenes has been a breath of fresh air to him.
Personally think he looks happier now than when he joined.
