Mansfield Town are discussing new deals with defender James Perch, midfielder Stephen Quinn and striker Jordan Bowery.

Bowery, 30, along with 36-year-old duo Perch and Quinn, featured in the 3-0 play-off final defeat by Port Vale.

However, the League Two club have transfer-listed striker Danny Johnson, with three other players released.

Centre-back Farrend Rawson is leaving Field Mill, along with goalkeeper Marek Stech and striker Josh Scott.

The club have also taken up contract options on five players - Ollie Clarke, Jason Law, George Maris, Stephen McLaughlin and Kieran Wallace.

Mansfield Town have signed goalkeeper Scott Flinders on an initial one-year contract following his release by League One club Cheltenham Town.

The 35-year-old made 23 appearances for the Robins during the 2021-22 season.

He began his career at Barnsley and also had spells at Crystal Palace, Hartlepool, York City and Macclesfield.

"He's been a very good goalkeeper over the years and has come here to compete for the first-choice goalkeeping spot," said manager Nigel Clough.

Mansfield reached the League Two play-offs but were beaten 3-0 by Port Vale in the final at Wembley.

Flinders will provide competition for Nathan Bishop, who made 53 appearances during the season, including the game against Vale.

Striker Jordan Bowery has signed a new two-year deal with Mansfield Town, after playing a part in this season's run to the League Two play-off final.

The Nottingham-born 30-year-old scored nine goals in 49 games, including in the play-off semi-final first leg against Northampton.

Bowery, who lists Aston Villa, Crewe and Rotherham among his former clubs, joined from MK Dons in June 2020.

"There's unfinished business here, after last season," Bowery said.

"So I'm delighted to finally sign the new contract, get it over the line and kick on for the next season.

"I had offers elsewhere but there was only one place [to play].

Mansfield Town have signed midfielder Hiram Boateng on a three-year deal following his release from MK Dons.

The 26-year-old, who started his career with Crystal Palace, made 65 appearances for the Dons in his three seasons with the League One club.

He featured 37 times last term, helping MK Dons reach the League One play-offs.

"I'm someone who knows the league well and knows what it takes to get out of this division, which can be difficult," Boateng told the club website.

Mansfield will be the ninth club Boateng has featured for in a decade, having had spells at Crawley, Plymouth, Bristol Rovers, Northampton and Exeter before joining MK Dons in 2019.

He also had a loan spell at Cambridge during 2020-21, helping the U's earn promotion to League One.

Boateng is the second summer signing made by manager Nigel Clough after the Stags missed out on promotion to League One following their 3-0 League Two play-off final defeat by Port Vale.

Goalkeeper Scott Flinders last week joined from Cheltenham Town.

Mansfield Town defender James Perch has signed a new one-year contract after returning to action last season following a fractured skull.

Perch, 36, was out of action for four months because of the injury but captained the Stags in their play-off final defeat by Port Vale last month.

He has made 58 appearances since arriving from Scunthorpe in 2020.

"After the gaffer said 'I want you to stay', I was more than happy to agree a new deal," Perch told the club site.

'I didn't think I'd play again after skull fracture'
"He [Nigel Clough] has been brilliant with me since he's come to the club and I think I speak on behalf of the rest of the lads as well by saying that."

Perch suffered the injury in training last September and it was not until January that he was cleared to play again, making his comeback as a late substitute in a 2-0 win over Leyton Orient.

Mansfield Town midfielder Stephen Quinn has signed a new contract to stay with the club for the 2022-23 season.

The 36-year-old made 43 appearances last season to help the Stags reach the League Two play-off final before losing to Port Vale.

Quinn joined Mansfield from Burton last summer following an earlier loan spell.

"Although he may not be playing 40, 50 games next year, he will still be a great influence on and off the pitch," said boss Nigel Clough.

"Our supporters love watching that sort of player and the passion that he emanates is contagious throughout the dressing room."

Mansfield Town have signed Nottingham Forest forward Will Swan on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old is the third summer signing by the Stags following the arrival of goalkeeper Scott Flinders and midfielder Hiram Boateng.

Swan, who made two Championship appearances as a substitute for Forest in 2020-21, also spent time on loan in League Two with Port Vale that season.

"He'll bring youth and energy to the team," Stags boss Nigel Clough said.

"He's a good all-round striker and a good finisher, given the opportunity."

Mansfield have signed Peterborough goalkeeper Christy Pym on a season-long loan deal.

Pym, 27, helped Posh win promotion to the Championship in 2020-21 but spent the second half of last season on loan in League Two with Stevenage.

"Christy's been at the top of our list for the last couple of months," boss Nigel Clough told the club website.

"He's an experienced goalkeeper and it'll be good to have him and Scott Flinders in the squad."

Mansfield Town have signed Nottingham Forest defender Riley Harbottle on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old is Mansfield's fifth summer signing, and the second from Forest, following striker Will Swan.

Harbottle captained Forest's Under-23 team last season, but played two Carabao Cup games for the senior side.

"Riley had a few other options in League Two so we're delighted he's chosen to be with us," Stags manager Nigel Clough said.

"He has some experience in the Conference with Wealdstone in 2021, so this will be his first loan experience in the Football League."

Rochdale have signed forward Tyrese Sinclair on a two-year deal following his release by Mansfield Town at the end of last season.

The 21-year-old came through Blackburn Rovers' academy before joining Mansfield's youth setup in 2017.

He made 44 appearances for the Stags and also made 14 appearances during a loan spell with Scunthorpe last term.

"I've worked [hard] to get this deal but the work is just getting started now and I'm ready to kick on," he said.
