Rochdale have signed goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell on a two-year deal.

The 33-year-old was released by fellow League Two side Bradford last week after four seasons with the Bantams.

"I had a good chat with Robbie (Stockdale) last week, and his plans for the club and the way he wants to play are exciting, so as as soon as I spoke to him we got things done pretty quickly" he told the club website.

"I'm delighted to be here and looking forward to getting started in July."

Rochdale have re-signed former loanee Ethan Ebanks-Landell on a two-year deal following his release by League One side Shrewsbury Town.

The Wolverhampton Wanderers academy graduate, 29, spent the latter half of the 2018-19 season on loan at Dale.

He also had spells on loan at Bury, Sheffield United and MK Dons before joining Shrewsbury in 2019.

"After speaking to the manager, his demeanour and the way he wanted to play fitted with what I want," he said.

"I really enjoyed my time when I was here before and hopefully I'll enjoy it again."

Ebanks-Landell is Rochdale's second signing of the summer after the arrival of goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell.

Rochdale have signed Walsall striker Devante Rodney on a two-year deal.

The clubs have not disclosed whether a fee has been paid for the 24-year-old.

Rodney moved to the Saddlers in January from Port Vale for an undisclosed fee on a two-and-a-half year contract, but struggled to break into the first team.

The former Manchester City and Sheffield Wednesday youngster started just two League Two matches and came off the bench 12 times without scoring during his time with Walsall.

"I met with the manager last week and he showed me a presentation during which he went into detail about what he wants the team to do both on and off the ball, and I think it's a good fit from me," Rodney told the Dale website.

"Last season didn't go to plan for me so I've got a lot of fire in my belly for this season and now I really want to push on."

Rodney previously scored 12 goals in 54 league games for Port Vale, after joining on a free transfer from Hartlepool in July 2020.

"He has been very sought after in the past and we hope to get him to a level which I think his attributes deserve to be at," added Rochdale manager Robbie Stockdale.

"His attributes are pace and power and will complement the other players that we have in the building."

Rochdale have signed defensive midfielder Toumani Diagouraga on a one-year deal following his release by League One side Morecambe.

The 35-year-old helped Morecambe win promotion to League One and retain their third-tier place last season.

He made 101 appearances for the club after joining from Swindon in 2020.

"When I met [the manager], I was impressed with his ideas and how he wants to play. He sold the club to me and I wanted to play for him," he said.

Rochdale have signed former Doncaster central defender Cameron John on a two-year contract.

The 22-year-old began his career at Wolves but didn't play a first-team game before joining Rovers, initially on loan before a permanent move.

He was a regular for the next two seasons in League One but was limited to just seven games last season.

"I've always heard good things about the club so it appealed to me," John told the Rochdale website.

"The way Rochdale play football is what I want to do. This club is going to give me the opportunity to come and enjoy football and love football again and I'm going to come and repay that faith."

John becomes the club's sixth summer signing ahead of their new League Two campaign that begins at Cambridge on 30 July.

League Two club Rochdale have signed Sheffield United defender Femi Seriki on a season-long loan deal.

The 21-year-old wing-back has been with the Blades since joining from Bury in 2019, and made his debut in the Premier League as a sub against Newcastle.

He featured against Nottingham Forest in the Championship last term and had loan stints at Belgian side Beerschot and National League North club Boston.

"It's a step up playing league football," Seriki said.

Rochdale have signed central defender Ben Nelson on a season-long loan from Leicester City.

Nelson, 18, featured in a number of the Foxes' Premier League and Europa League squads last season.

The Leicester academy graduate is also a member of the England Under-18s team.

"It's great that a Premier League team like Leicester City and a manager like Brendan Rodgers trusts us with Ben's development," said Rochdale manager Robbie Stockdale.

He told the club website: "I'm sure Ben will do well here, but it will also be a challenge for him at the same time."

Nelson is Dale's ninth new arrival this summer, as they begin their League Two campaign at home to relegated Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.

League Two club Rochdale have signed Scotland Under-21 goalkeeper Cieran Slicker from Premier League champions Manchester City on a season-long loan.

The 19-year-old was part of City's Elite Development Squad that won the Premier League 2 title last season.

"I'm ready for a new challenge. The aim for me is to play games on a bigger stage," Slicker said.

Slicker is the 10th signing made by Dale this summer and the second in two days following defender Ben Nelson.

The teenager, who came through the academy at City, is the second keeper brought in by boss Robbie Stockdale after Richard O'Donnell's arrival from Bradford in May.

"He's a quality young goalkeeper that will provide really good competition for Rich and help develop the younger goalkeepers around him as well," Stockdale told the club website.

"We thank Manchester City for their help with that one. We needed two senior goalkeepers in the building, and I think that also benefits the younger ones as well, in that we can get them out on loan for men's football."

Rochdale have signed West Bromwich Albion forward Rayhaan Tulloch on a season-long loan deal.

The 21-year-old, who has made seven appearances for the Baggies, could make his debut for Dale against Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.

"I've worked with the gaffer and [assistant] Jimmy Shan before and I like they way they operate," he told the club website.

"They're good people and they're the right people to help me progress."

Rochdale have signed midfielder Connor Malley, while defender Max Taylor has penned a new deal.

Taylor, 22, started at Manchester United and overcame cancer during his time at Old Trafford, but was released without making a senior appearance.

Malley, 22, was in Sunderland's academy before moving to Middlesbrough, where he made three first-team appearances.

"Max is a centre-back we've got really big hopes for. He has lots of potential," boss Robbie Stockdale said.

"Connor was with us in pre-season and did very well. He's turned down longer contracts at clubs to come to us.

"That shows the ambition of him but also shows us that we're an attractive club to come to."

Since joining Dale last summer, Taylor has appeared 29 times, scoring three times.

Malley had loan spells at Ayr United and Carlisle before making 11 appearances for Gateshead last season.
