James Rowe - finally I'm proud of us - Devongone - 12-05-2022 So finally it is admitted that James Rowe, our former manager, left the club after allegations of sexual misconduct. He apparently exposed himself to a young woman. Rowe's new employers AFC Fylde did not ask for a reference from Chesterfield, but we did make them aware of the incident and they went ahead and employed him anyway. We also contacted the FA and alerted them that in the club's opinion Rowe is a potential danger to women, but the FA's response was that it does not regard it as safeguarding issue as the woman concerned was not under the age of 18. Hmmmmmmmm. (What had the policeman who raped and murdered a woman been doing a few weeks before his awful crime, oh yeah, exposing himself to women!) What a change for the club after our self-serving attitude to signing Ched Evans. Now, when challenging to win our league and gain a promotion every fan wants, we ditch the man who got us there in favour of the woman who was brave enough to speak out. We are now still struggling even to reach the play-offs. Under new management we've so far only won five times I think, but bloody hell for once we did the right thing. AFC Fylde and the FA can dumb down to any standards they choose, but we didn't cover up the problem, slip a few people a bit of laundry money and hope James Rowe would come up smelling of Lenor and soon have us back in the EFL. We did the right thing, that's bloody daft, useless old Chesterfield. For once we got it right. Those who took that decision should be proud of themselves. In a world in which only a tiny percentage of rape cases end up in court attitudes to men's sexual misconduct have to change. A world in which a man is so arrogant that he thinks he is too important for anyone to speak up if he waves his willy at a woman has to be challenged. Well done to the victim and those who supported her. Well done to us for doing the right thing, whatever the cost. RE: James Rowe - finally I'm proud of us - Lord Snooty - 12-05-2022 Aye. Well done. ![]() RE: James Rowe - finally I'm proud of us - spireitematt - 13-05-2022 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-10811035/AFC-Fylde-face-questions-young-female-physios-asked-provide-treatment-James-Rowe.html |
