Hibs v Livingston FC, Sat 29 Jan, KO 3.00pm - 0762 - 27-01-2022

I watched the tv highlights of the Lions v Rangers at Ibronx and one notable thing about their resolute performance v Rangers (IMO Huns lucky to get that victory with that only goal by that irritatingly "saluting" prat, Arfield!) was how stuffy they were in protecting their goalie, Strijek, who had a good performance "between the sticks". So Hibs play this stuffy Livy side with a clearly visible striking problem that is not welcome in matches like this upcoming one. None of our preferred strikers is anywhere near prolific. Nisbet could've scored in the initial mins of the match v M'well when sent through the home defence, but not direct enough or committed to get into their pen box and score, his first touch rotten btw!! Doidge is similar whereby he could've won the game in the last quarter from a position where he needed to show a bit of quality to loft the ball, from the right corner of their pen box, over a stranded M'well goalie to score an acclaimed winner - couldn't do it!! Thumb down Mueller is a good hard-working young player, but he is clearly not a prolific goal scorer either - seen enough to confirm that fact already!
All I can say is I hope somebody "steps up to the plate" and scores the winning goal - prob one goal in it, which is sad to say considering where Hibs are and it is Livy who are our opponents Rolleyes

GGTTH

First half was actually decent i thought, but the 2nd half was absolutely atrocious and we made error after error. Still struggle to defend set pieces..... Livi were much stronger physically, technically better players, and better organised.

Campbell should be nowhere near starting games for us. Least not for me anyway.

Campbell is a young player who has played out too many games. Why can't Maloney see what most Hibs fans are observing and concluding as the obvious action to take!!!???? Also Maloney's PM interviews are becoming very irritating!!!

Yup the signs where however there in the first half, we simply cannot go on with that midfield, Maloney needs to be in Ron's office demanding a proven midfielder for starters, at the moment we are leaderless. The style of play is wrong and too many players have no clue what they are doing and the management just stand there looking clueless and bringing on players who also are not good enough. They can go on about transition all they want but that fact is they are only succeeding in driving more fans away.

If this situ doesn't change pronto, my letter shortly going in to Ron Gordon as a very unhappy shareholder, not happy with the decision-making to get us where we are, don't like our current CE (bring back Leeann - shouldn't have ditched her in the first place!! Gordon's decision btw!!). Lotsa issues of concern gradually unfolding and another one is the fact we are indeed leaderless!! One immediate action SM needs to make is return another CB, Rocky or Hanlon, back to Hibs defence. IMO playing Porteous with no experienced CB partner alongside him was utter folly. He never played for weeks!! Rolleyes Also noticeable Nisbet and Doidge had another blank scoring match. Boyly offsky, "step up to the plate" guys eh - not happening!! As commented in another thread, the season is a bogey, that's the crux of it. Hibs FC, Ron Gordon et al, made the decision to act on moving for a new manager. Fair enough, but was it the right appointment and then offloading our best goal scorer and goal provider??? Has HFC compensated for that loss??? NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! We have been weakened in the striking dept and it shows!! Thumb down It certainly doesn't tie in with Ron Gordon's hugely positive aspirations for the future.
