WBA vs Forest - Match Thread - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 25-11-2021 There's nothing like a promotion-calibre winning streak to make the autumn fly by, and sure enough, what we're on is nothing like a promotion-calibre winning streak. One victory in five isn't even playoff form, and the increasingly lacklustre performances would make watching the grass grow a preferable alternative, if the grass hadn't already nodded off itself. Something needs to change soon, and the earliest opportunity comes on Friday night as we welcome Nottingham Forest to the Hawthorns. History doesn't bode all that well as we're now twenty years without a home win against the East Midlanders, going back to November 2001. Nevertheless, Forest are on a similarly indifferent run of form, having become draw specialists in recent weeks. Though hard to beat, somehow Albion have to dig deep and find something new before we head into winter. RE: WBA vs Forest - Match Thread - Arcane Astral Aeons - 25-11-2021 away win guaranteed then Ska`d? football(if you call it that)has been very poor and do agree i feel sorry for the grass but being baggies fans we live in hope RE: WBA vs Forest - Match Thread - Blue Baggie - 26-11-2021 Our luck will change when Val changes things, Do the same things and you get the same results? Phillips dropped to the bench and Robinson takes the No9 position. RE: WBA vs Forest - Match Thread - Dingle-Dingle - 26-11-2021 Why is Grant taking corner kicks?? DD ![]() ![]() RE: WBA vs Forest - Match Thread - Baggie_One - 26-11-2021 Oh my. Mulumby sent off This. Is. Poor RE: WBA vs Forest - Match Thread - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 26-11-2021 Hugill: if you can't keep your head and put the ball away - or at least put it on target - when you get an opportunity like that, it's pack-your-bags time. RE: WBA vs Forest - Match Thread - Salopbaggie - 26-11-2021 When we signed Hugill, I said I was not impressed, but I would give him the benefit of the doubt. I did that, but I think all the doubt is used up now, he useless just as he appeared in the videos I watched. RE: WBA vs Forest - Match Thread - Minizin - 27-11-2021 I think we’ve got three things going wrong: 1) no central striker. Problem dating back to the summer we lost Gayle and Rodriguez (and Rondon before then). No one who naturally stays centrally and gets in the box. Other than Hugill, bloody hell… 2) the formation works if you have low possession - lots of pressure from the front, cover at the back, and gaps in midfield are closed by the high line. But now we’re trying to pass and opponents are leaving us with the ball, we rely on centre backs and full backs to pass, we have nowhere near enough creativity or quality from midfield. Which isn’t helped by… 3) Ill discipline. Probably without Livermore, Molumby and Snodgrass for the next game for various reasons, plus Mowatt and Furlong banned before As it is, our players are good enough for the playoffs, but automatic is a pipe dream RE: WBA vs Forest - Match Thread - Baggiebob(BBB) - 27-11-2021 We could be 5th in the table by tomorrow night ![]() Before the 70th minute looking at the stats of shots on goal, on target, and corners, we were 19 and Forest were 5. Doesn't that tell you if we have how ever million to spend in Jan, spend it all on a forward that know s how to score goals. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The team looked good tonight, but again woeful finishing as Hugill demonstrated. Get rid. RE: WBA vs Forest - Match Thread - Minizin - 27-11-2021 That said, I think we’re better with Hugill on the pitch. He’s a presence in the middle and, defenders have to keep an eye on him. A trained kangaroo would do a similar job |
