Goodbye Joel Taylor - Devongone - 13-07-2021

We've sold Joel Taylor to Notts County for an undisclosed fee.

Strongly disagree with Dancing that we are playing 0-10-0 next season.

A 1-7-2 looks on to me.

Won't all this chopping and changing of players upset the harmony and morale in the squad?

Add Martin Smith as well. The Technique revolving door is spinning off its hinges.

Seems bizarre to me. We can't complain nothing ever happens.

By the way the flooding in Germany, Netherlands and Belgium has me taking a careful look at the course of the Derwent in Matlock, before considering a move.

He's signed for Hartlepool on a free.

We need a 2nd goalkeeper and another striker in my opinion.

Haven't we got Danny Rowe, Stefan Payne, Tom Denton and injured Akwasi Asante? Doesn't that make any new striker fourth or fifth? Or have I missed some departures?

Very surprised Hartlepool let Rhys Oates go to Mansfield after playing so well last season. Noticed Matlock have been inspired by the thought of me moving there, they beat Mansfield 1-0.

We desperately need a good younger keeper. It's ridiculous to rely on one bloke in his mid-thirties. Unfortunately Cameron Mason signed for Southport early this month. Why Curzon released him after demanding a loan fee for him from us last season is way beyond my pay grade.

At the speed Mr Rowe moves there is plenty of time to make more changes before the season starts at Aldershot is it? He'll want to win there.

We should have kept Montgomery as he was an ok keeper.

Ideally I think we need a keeper in his early twenties who is looking to unseat a first team keeper and get his career moving.

I AM totally baffled by the current team-building process. If I had a contract with us I'd be wondering how far away I was from a mutual agreement departure. Players have gone who didn't even get the chance to NOT IMPRESS.

RE: Goodbye Joel Taylor - Dancingwilldoit - 18-07-2021

It seems more like a trial and error process with JR. We had a trialist keeper for 2nd half yesterday but he let 2 in. Seems we played well with Big Tom scoring and defending well.
Matlock Weds night might be a bit cooler, 33 here yesterday afternoon so well done to McCourt who played the full 90mins, not bad for an oldie.
Dev, am sure if we had the rain Europe had last week the Derwent would go anywhere it wants. I've said it before head for the hills. There's some nice places tucked away. Ashover is high enough up and only 30 mins from Matlock on a mobility scooter Smile

The worry is will all this chopping and changing players in the squad backfire? Also should the ground install a revolving door like they have in department stores?
