Celtic v Hibs, Mon 11 Jan, KO 7.45pm - 0762 - 07-01-2021 So this rearranged fixture, due to Celtic's exotic training stint in sunny Dubai, will KO on Monday night. Hibs not in good shape TBH - looking defensively fragile and our forwards not performing well either. It looks like an odds-on home win for Celtic. So what does Jack Ross do to change it? Not an easy question to answer with certain Hibs players not looking good on the pitch! I think he has to play with "one up top" because he has failed using the "two up top" ploy v lesser teams than Celtic. I'd just suggest going for a "man for man" marking system but that is asking for a strong commitment/work ethic in order to "hold firm". Also try to defend both our flanks stoutly. GGTTH RE: Celtic v Hibs, Mon 11 Jan, KO 7.45pm - ritchiebaby - 07-01-2021 Not really expecting anything from this game. A big step-up required from most Hibs players for us to even compete with Celtic. Forget this one and move on swiftly to the next game against Kilmarnock. Hopefully the team will surprise me and do something special. RE: Celtic v Hibs, Mon 11 Jan, KO 7.45pm - HerefordBull - 08-01-2021 Based on our recent "performances"..................Our only chance is if they cannot honour the fixture due to covid and breaking protocols so we are give a 3 . 0 victory ![]() RE: Celtic v Hibs, Mon 11 Jan, KO 7.45pm - hibeejim21 - 08-01-2021 Im a bit pissed off to say the least that our game is on a Monday night just so they can xxxx off to Dubai. If we defend like we have in the last couple of games we can forget about it, but you never know. They are a bit fragile at the back currently to say the least. RE: Celtic v Hibs, Mon 11 Jan, KO 7.45pm - hibeejim21 - 08-01-2021 Actually come to think of it I wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't go ahead. I notice the Man City ladies team came back from Dubai with covid. RE: Celtic v Hibs, Mon 11 Jan, KO 7.45pm - ritchiebaby - 08-01-2021 Could it be a baptism of fire for our new keeper, Matt Macey from Arsenal? Too big an ask in my opinion, but perhaps his experience in training with top players might swing it in his favour. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55589361 RE: Celtic v Hibs, Mon 11 Jan, KO 7.45pm - hibeejim21 - 11-01-2021 I get the feeling the Scots gov want to pull the plug on football, and their lunatic trip to Dubai might just be the straw that broke the camels back. Anyway no more reschedules, they play whatever players they have...youth team whatever or forfeit the 3 points. RE: Celtic v Hibs, Mon 11 Jan, KO 7.45pm - HerefordBull - 11-01-2021 Going to be an interesting Government briefing at lunchtime. However I have a feeling the game will go ahead as normal, afterall it is Celtic. ![]() Fallout will come later if more players test positive and even worse, our squad get infected by being in their faces tonight. ![]() RE: Celtic v Hibs, Mon 11 Jan, KO 7.45pm - hibeejim21 - 11-01-2021 They have confirmed they are playing the fixture, but they have 13 players and 3 staff isolating including Lennon. ![]() It's going to be mostly squad and youth players led by Gavin Strachan. We should be getting the 3 points tonight or something isnae right. This is entirely Celtics fault. Going out there was absolute insanity. The FM confirming at the lunch time COVID briefing that all footie below Scot Championship level is suspended. One of the main reasons for this move is because of complaints from players themselves, many of whom were concerned re the threat of infecting family members. I concur with the same sentiment that the Scot govt will "pull the plug" on the whole of Scot footie and they'll do it on clinical advice re the impending threat of a "super spreader" of a COVID variant. |
