RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window (28th Aug) - May68 - 30-08-2015 (30-08-2015, 10:39)Baggiebailey Wrote: Havnt posted since old bbc days but am a silent watcher, but all this winging and moaning has incensed me over the last few weeks. Can't anybody see we are a team in massive transition from what should have been a Champo team this season to a team trying to get rid of the shite we have bought for 2 seasons now. In doing this Pullis is rightly starting at the back hard to beat wins points at the moment. Welcome to the boards Baggiebailey. I have to disagree that Pulis inherited a champo team. Yes we've had a habit of buying a lot of dross ever since Ashworth left, but for a long while now we have had a fairly settled squad full of players with years of international and premiership experience. The problem is that we haven't really added much quality to the generally very good business we did between about 2007-2011. I don't think Pulis is a miracle worker because he got a squad containing Foster/Myhill/Lescott/Brunt/Mulumbu/Mozza/Berahino etc to stay up. I do agree that we are transitioning. The reason for the moaning is that a lot of us don't like what we are transitioning into. It seems that Pulis has pretty much been given free reign to sign whoever he likes by a chairman who either a) has too much trust in him, or b) allowed him this free reign as a condition of his arrival. There is no long term strategy other than bringing in a load of domestic-based journeymen who Pulis thinks to be 'good lads in the dressing room' rather than the sulky foreigners we've tended to go for more recently i.e. Poco/Samaras/Sess/Varela. If you think the standard of football we are seeing is just a temporary blip while Pulis tries to sort things out, then I hope you are right but I just cannot share your optimism. RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window (30th Aug) - Stairs - 30-08-2015 Rondon looks good to me having watched the last two games - I think he'll get to double figures quickly RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window (30th Aug) - BaggieMan - 30-08-2015 (30-08-2015, 14:02)4evaabaggie Wrote: Let's stop fighting between ourselves over TP and discuss the comings and goings in the next two days. Judge in November ....... please. 4eva, I don't think we are fighting between ourselves but are just giving our own opinions on the poor performances of the team which is ultimately the responsibility on Pulis with his team selection, his buys and his playing style. Whilst I do not expect West Brom to match the big boys in our league, when I pay good money for my Season Ticket I want to see decent football and be entertained with us at least making a decent effort. The way we are playing and the players that have been brought in is Pulis all over and leopards don't change their spots. I don't want my beloved club to be labelled the second Stoke City parking the bus with a string of 6ft 6in centre halves and defensive midfielders but that’s where we are heading. Its obvious from the majority of posts on this and other forums, that many Baggie supporters are equally concerned and vent their frustrations in the only way they can but, hopefully, we will never fall out and accept each others view with the grace. He is a tall, beasty central midfielder who gets up and down the pitch very well. He is 1.83m in height so would bring good height into our midfield and his combative style would add the bite that we have lacked since Mulumbu's form dropped off at the start of last season. He was used predomantly as an attacking midfielder last season with 2 defensive minded midfielders (Payot and Gelson Fernandes) behind him. If we can sign him, which could be difficult given that Napoli and Watford also want him, I would prefer to see him playing in a similar role to his at Rennes with him at the top of a central midfield triangle with 2 of Morrison, Yacob and Fletcher playing behind him. Judge in November ....... please. Baggieman, fighting is probably too strong a word, but the Pulis should go, Pulis should stay, go, stay, is a debate without resolve and going around in circles does my head in. I value everyone's opinion and would fight to the death for their right to hold those opinions but can we knock it on the head and get back to transfer talk. We all want the best for our beloved Albion, living away from the black country, I rely on you all to keep updated with things, the bickering makes it difficult to read. RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window (30th Aug) - wba_1996 - 30-08-2015 ???
Dawson - Chester - Evans - Brunt Fletcher - Yacob McManaman - ??? - Berahino Rondon Fill in those gaps, along with possibly another winger and/or LB option and we have a squad that should comfortably stay up. Jonny Evans is a very good signing, a player we can build the defence around for the next 4 seasons. I still want James Morrison to play a big part in Albion's future. Buy an orthodox LB and move Brunty to DMF with Yacob moving to the right hand side of the pairing. Sell Big Vic and get Charlie Austin in for if and when Berahino departs. RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window (30th Aug) - Tom_Wba - 30-08-2015 I could be wrong but maybe we should of got the Matt Phillips deal sorted a lot earlier after QPRs strong start to this season Matt Phillips may well be inclined to see it out for this season (well at least until January) and see if they can bounce straight back to the Premier League, You would of thought he'd rather stay in London as it seems the place to be RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window (30th Aug) - Beefy 1965 - 30-08-2015 Forget Moses ![]() Guess our interest confirmed that if we are interested they must sign him ![]() Ian Abrahams (Moose) @BroadcastMoose 9s10 seconds ago No Jelavic medical tomorrow, Moses to join too @clarejrussell @whufc_official plus another striker, be busy between now and Tues RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window (30th Aug) - West Brom Strollers 1878 - 31-08-2015 Just watching sky sports and an agent has said west sham have only 50% chance of signing moses with another club in for him.
