RE: Jan 03: WBA 2018/19 Transfer Window - Blue Baggie - 13-01-2019 (13-01-2019, 01:09)baggietrousers Wrote: If they sell Phillips this window then this season has gone and it will be years of championship (or lower) obscurity. I've said that in previous threads, (Phillips has 18 months left on contract and £18M is a good offer). All those relegated agreed to stay for a season on half salary and return to the PL - that was fair enough although Foster/McClean/Evans/Rondon/Nyom/Chadli did a runner. But the club has not kept it's side of the gentlemens agreement as little or no investment has happened. Dowling has publically said we will sell players when the time is right, so we know whats coming. e.g. any good offer and our players will be sold. Worse then that our youngsters have been shite on by old has beens coming in on loan. They will be cherry picked now and don't expect them to show any loyalty when Darren has basically told them he doesn't think they are good enough after he trained them for several years. Shocking really. Keep Phillips buy 3 players for £10M+ each NOW and we can go up - do nothing and obscurity here we come. People on here think I'm the devil spreading harmful gossip - I'm just trying to be honest. We go up or we go down the middle ground doesn't exist as our owner will not throw £50 million a year to keep us a top 6 championship side. All gone quiet on the Phillips front - I'm aware Burnley and Cardiff asked on Jan 2nd, but AFAK we told them "No way" and I don't think either of them would splash £18 million on one player - unless a player exchange was involved? Rondon is still with us, for the time being anyway and is there anyone who would not want Gayle playing for you in this division? Chadli for all his potential, was a waste of a squad number, Nyom, only thing you could really say positive was he could play at RB. Fozzy it was sad to see him go, but I don't begrudge him that last pay day. Evans, "Who are ya". McClean, I think would have been good in this league, in this team, as would the Yac who I don't think should have been let go, the same as I think GMac had another year in him at least from the bench. But we are where we are, the only thing that worries me is our owner, not the team as such. RE: Jan 03: WBA 2018/19 Transfer Window - BaggieMan - 15-01-2019 McClean isn’t liked at all at Sjoke. Like most of us, they think he’s like a headless chicken. As for Berahino, he is hated by 90% of Skokie’s. http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/285249/berahino?page=5&scrollTo=6311076 RE: Jan 03: WBA 2018/19 Transfer Window - silverbaggie - 16-01-2019 And now to add further humiliation to Sjoke Shitty they have lost their FA Cup replay at home against Shrewsbury. 2-0 up at half time and they end up losing 2-3. Both Sado and McLean on the bench and neither brought on. Ha Ha Ha. ![]() ![]() RE: Jan 03: WBA 2018/19 Transfer Window - Beefy 1965 - 16-01-2019 Brilliant ![]() RE: Jan 03: WBA 2018/19 Transfer Window - Salopbaggie - 16-01-2019 (16-01-2019, 00:16)silverbaggie Wrote: And now to add further humiliation to Sjoke Shitty they have lost their FA Cup replay at home against Shrewsbury. 2-0 up at half time and they end up losing 2-3. Go Salop (for those outside the area Salop is the old name for Shrewsbury and from 1974-1980 for Shropshire). I bet you can imagine my thoughts about the next round for them against Wo1ve5. RE: Jan 03: WBA 2018/19 Transfer Window - Blue Baggie - 17-01-2019 No money to.meet the wage bill - large bank loan on the way. New owners required before we have nothing. RE: Jan 03: WBA 2018/19 Transfer Window - silverbaggie - 17-01-2019 What has happened to the money from the Greed league last season? Is the owner using WBA money to prop up other Business interests? We can hardly be accused of splashing the cash on new players and our existing squad are theoretically on half wages, so what the hell is going on? Have other forms of income (season tickets, shirt sales, ) seen a dramatic drop in income? I am beginning to think that Jeremy made a serious misjudgement when vetting our present owner. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Jan 03: WBA 2018/19 Transfer Window - talkSAFT - 17-01-2019 (17-01-2019, 14:06)silverbaggie Wrote: What has happened to the money from the Greed league last season? I've always backed JP for the pragmatic way he managed the Club/Business over 15 years. He certainly upset a few by not being ambitious enough, but I had full confidence in him because he proved to be managing a 2nd rate Club with dilligence. He always maintained he would only sell to somebody that he had vettedwho carried on his own principles for the benefit of WBA - that was another reason I've always backed him (in conversations on here and in the Pub/Ground etc) Well, f**k me, he APPEARS to be either a liar or a pushover because, from what you can gather, this Lai fellow he vetted doesn't give a toss, and I can't understand his business intentions with this toy he's bought. |
