Sometimes it works, mostly it doesn't.

Totally agree. Fans should stop attending these matches until clubs take it seriously DD Angry Angry

I can understand some of the changes because at the end of the day the real money is in staying in the league.  So while clubs talk a good fight about wanting to have a good cup run, all they are really thinking about is keeping the squad fresh for the league.

That said I was surprised by AI's comment that "some of the lads told me they were felling a bit tired" so they were rested.  While I appreciate they are professional athletes and they need to be at their peak. It does not seem to long ago when they had two games a week quite often without a problem.

I still reckon they should all be put on piece work, do your job or you don't get paid, be far more effective than giving bonuses, £xxx for an effective tackle, £xxx per kilometre run, £xxx for an assist or a save I'm sure you get the idea.   [Image: whistling.gif][Image: wink.png]

Been out tonight so missed the game thank god.

Still hoped to have come back to at least a decent performance.

Great chance missed again, typical Albion season starting to take shape,

Struggle in the league , knocked out of cup competitions early Doh Great

Then i discover we have 3 def midfielders on against a championship side,

I still feel and hate to say it No Width, No Pace & a Negative manager = recipe for disaster Sick

Beefy was at the game last night - so disappointing what is the point of buying all these average players then non of them play for two months apart from the odd international. Davidson is so slow he makes  Ridgewell look like Usain Bolt. He will never be quick enough for the premier league I watched him get murdered at Swansea. Gamboa looks good going forward but  caught out defensively. Many are missing match practice and no matter how much you train you can never replicate matches. This is why Popov got caught out last season. No pace on the left at the moment.

Watching the game i wondered who was the Prem team, cos it certainly wasn't us.
As someone mentioned we had no width and certainly no idea how to go about a game that had a team who when they had the ball, had thought to straight away to penetrate our defence with speed - and they did often, with two good goals to show for it. Their players were up for it, and they'd also had wholesale changes from the team who won 8-0, so now its 8-0 +2 more against an OG.
Seems like Irvine should have used his head a bit more me thinks.

Who was it who gave the ball away leading up to their 2nd goal. Dawson?(who played a shocker and missed 2 sitters, as did O'neil)

Hope Bm'th go on and beat more teams they deserve it.

Personally, I don't see how anyone can say Dawson "had a shocker". If it wasn't for Dawson we'd have conceded a lot more and a lot sooner. It was McAuley who kept getting caught out with Dawson covering his ass most the time and it's not his job to score - that's why we have strikers, I believe Ideye missed 2 (maybe more?) sitters as well.

It was a poor performance overall, with Dawson and Gamboa being the only players to come away from it with any credit to their names.

Bournemouth draw Liverpool at home in the quarter-finals, and I for one will be cheering them on!

Was anyone really surprised? Albion should let Fans visit these Cup games free of charge! I refuse to go to a Cup match again after that performance against Palace last season!

Don't worry guys, we've got the same to go through with the FA Cup yet.

The team that failed pretty miserably at B'mouth will get another chance against oppostion that we should be beating.

Wolves anyone?
Blues?

Clubs should have a league manager and a cup manager,

Keeps each manager on their toes and allows two different people to pick a team they think will pay better!

Some managers have no interest in the cup, an understudy manager could make a name for themselves by being in controll of a cup run!

either way, this result has taken a team on a high back to doom and gloom! Terrible result
