RE: Tony Pulis' replacement - Kennyg - 26-11-2017

I have a hunch one of the two candidates is Craig Shakespeare, as he was seen at the Hawthorns over the weekend. Not sure if I am in favour of this. An old Baggie returning? At least he knows the club and it's traditions and style of play. He could even get another old Baggie back to help him - Nigel Pearson!
We shall see!

Pardew confirms he's had talks with #wba on Sky Sports. “I’ve had discussions with them. It’s an attractive job so we’ll see where it goes. It’s a club that I think have a really good set of players and it’s a really good opportunity for a manager. If it’s me, it’s me!"

I think Alan Pardew would be a good fit for West Brom. Has a good reputation, encouranging more attractive play and seems to be aware of our ethos and history as a club.

Strong thoughts from Ben, Just what we thought though Thumb up

West Brom star Ben Foster made some interesting conclusions after the Tottenham match
Those were the conclusions drawn by goalkeeper Ben Foster after Gary Megson’s first game in caretaker charge of the Baggies ended in a surprise draw.

The Midlands club seem in no rush to finalise a deal with Alan Pardew, the favourite to replace Pulis on a permanent basis, and Megson looks set to get another chance when Newcastle visit the Hawthorns tomorrow night.

A glaring injury-time miss by Salomon Rondon, the man who put West Brom in front after just four minutes, might even have snatched victory, but in the end Harry Kane’s 40th Premier League goal of 2017 was enough for a share of the spoils.

“Tony Pulis is almost a downfall of his own success,” Foster said. “He has definitely built the best team there has been here in my seven years at the club. “Everybody knows the Tony Pulis style of football is what it is. Now we have got those technically gifted players who want to get the ball down and show what they can do. It is not necessarily what Tony wanted.

“I think it was time for a change. You could sense it today – the fans turned out in numbers and it was a good atmosphere.

“It is time now for us to show we are good players and we should not be in the position we are at.”

Choose what they say, I reckon all the players are of a like mind. It speaks volumes when Fozzie says about "technically gifted players who weren't what Tony wanted"
All Tony really wanted was a team full of 6ft 5", 15stone centre half thugs.

RE: Tony Pulis' replacement - Kennyg - 27-11-2017

Let's hope Fozzie can be de-programmed too! His time wasting has reached new heights under Pulis. Maybe a quick goal kick or throw out to one of the technically gifted players could reap dividends! Go for it Fozzie! Mind you after nearly three years of being told to take an eternity over goal kicks or to hoof the ball up from open play, it will take some doing to change!
