It's the 21st century and why should we change our spellings to comply with a bunch of under educated colonists who can't grasp correct pronunciation or spelling 
We sent half the twats to the colonies for being thick in the first place

My tyres are fine PEI, the front ones are getting close to being in need of replacement and I should really get them done before the end of Autumn but the back ones will see me through the Winter
How's your dementia getting along ?

There a funny bunch them there Cananananadians; they keep the correct spelling of colour but use the merkin* version for other stuff.

On the car front I gave my hood* a good going over yesterday; milton fluid to kill the incipient moss, shampoo to wash all the muck out and fabsil to make the water bead off. All set for winter now. I ned to put in a new condenser and get an air-con recharge and swap one of the "tuning fork" control arms to cure a knock in the rear suspension, but I'll do them when I'm back in London when I don't need the car.
* As the President addresses the people: "My fellow 'merkins" - look it up in a dictionary!

What's peoples thoughts on mixing tyres
I've got Pirelli's on mine but the front two are close to having to be replaced whilst the back two are fine. I'm looking at getting the fronts replaced with Bridgestone's or Goodyear's this month and then replacing the back 2 with the same next month.
Would you drive round on mixed tyres for a month

I know they always say don't mix tyres but I always assumed that meant on the same axle!! Surely if you are going to have the same tyre on each end of the axle it will be fine, especially as its likely to be just for a month.

It's all a bit confusing
I could afford to replace all four with "budget" tyres this month, which would be new tyres all round but do I really want them ? No. I'd rather spread the cost to buy the more recommended, and expensive, brands.Unless someone knows any different about "budget" tyres. Are the alternatives any good and is it just scaremongering from the big manufacturers
I do enjoy getting surprised by the so called cheap stuff on offer at Lidl

I've been driving around with mixed tyres front and back all year. When I got it there were Vredestein Wintracs on the front and a mis-matched pair of a Bridgestone and a ditchfinder on the rear. I swapped the rears pretty sharpish since the Bridgestone was low on tread and I didn't want a ditchfinder on a Porsche! Promptly lit up the new Continentals on the back and over-steered into a bus.
Same tyre across the axle is what you want, preferably with the same wear. The AA recommend having the best tyres on the rear, since this will cause any failure of adhesion to result in under-steer rather than the more tricky over-steer.
