Good to see most the attacking players contributed a bit. Aries, I echo your thoughts on Brown Ideye. Given more time to settle into the pace and physicality of the Premier League, I think (and hope) he will become an outstanding force. It will be a great pity if the prospective partnership of Brown and Saido that is already paying dividends, is broken with Berahino wanting to move on to 'better things'. RE: WBA vs Stoke - Match Thread - valpayne - 17-03-2015 I think we have to be prepared for saido to move on sooner rather than later. Pulis has handled him really well IMO and has brushed away several episodes of notoriety narrowly avoiding another old man wingie situation which became a farce and I believe disrupted our team massively back then, but, if we get big money, which I also suspect we will, then we may well end up with a more experienced PL striker that's not quite as impulsive shall we say. It is a shame mind you because there are signs that Bobby and Saido are starting to click as nearly all our goals are coming from these two now. Its important that we finish as high as possible this season because that makes us a more attractive proposition for decent players wanting a move and although he's not all your favourite, I also believe, TP being head coach will have a fair amount of sway to. Onwards and upwards I say the top half doesn't look so far away anymore especially with the likes of West Ham and Newcastle starting to take some hits COYB ![]() RE: WBA vs Stoke - Match Thread - WillieJohnstonsGreenhouse - 17-03-2015 Went to the game and we thoroughly deserved it. I did consider not going but couldn't miss the clash of Pulis against our bogie team. I've seen them too many times, they've never out-classed us but always won, and their away support is always, horribly loud. (fair play - wish our home fans were on par (and I hate saying that)) Just posting to add what's been said - Jimmy, Fletch, and our defensive line were solid and ran it. Bobby and Saido ran their socks off creating movement and chances. The thing I like about Pulis is he makes everybody work and that's especially noticeable with our strikers. They make the runs, create chances and try to score BUT (and it's a Beefy sized but -sorry big man- love ya) they pressure the opposition defenders. Sounds simple but has been lacking for ages. I'm not the only one to say 'I don't mind losing if everyone gives their all for the cause' - you cannot ask for more and we're getting there. I think Saido will be off at the merest cheque-flash and good luck to him. Feel sad he's not interested in furthering the club that helped him and the partnership valpayne mentions but so be it. Modern footy ay it.
