Pulis went up in my estimation yesterday solely because he admitted his mind had been on other things - (deadlines/transfers) rather than on the game in hand – and it showed! - Why play McManaman knowing he wasn’t fit/ready? Why bring Dorrans on with minutes to go? Why play Lescott out of position? I could go on. As for the game - when we started to fight for the ball rather than sit back, we looked as if we might get something from it. However, this wasn’t to be as nothing seemed to go for us. Let’s hope the next game the boys and Pulis will put right what went wrong and we’ll start picking up points.

Playing Berahino in midfield for the first 20 minutes leaving Anichebe totally isolated also didn't help.
Yesterday we were once again totally devoid of any pace, width and creativity. The contrast with Spurs excellent passing, movement and control was frightening. Yes, Loris made some good saves but Spurs were always in control for all but the last 20 minutes of the first half. Pulis picked the team tactics and substitutions and as others have said if Irvine had been in charge and we'd played like that he'd have been rightly slaughtered so yes, in my opinion Pulis was to blame.

IMO both Irvine and Pulis have had to try and do battle with players that they wouldn't necessarily want in their team.
I still have big sympathy with Irvine but, sorry, he wasn't good enough and had to go.

Pulis is still playing with someone else's team so to say 'Pulis was to blame', IMO, isn't right.
When he's been with us over the summer and had enough time to assemble the squad he wants then YES - I AGREE that he can take full responsibility for HIS team.
I'd just like to add again that Spurs were fantastic yesterday and I don't think many teams would've coped with them.

Lescott at left back baffles me. Not that this was the reason we lost. Like everybody else I want to see Gamboa play but in training Wisdom is obviously better. I like Poco and Baird looks ok but something behind the scenes isn't right.
We lost yesterday because too many players under performed. Yacob went from the world beater we signed to the out of sorts Claudio who couldn't break into the side. Foster needs to sort his kicking out(he should be ace considering who many back passes he gets!) Morrison and Brunt are hard workers but not good enough. Anichebe worked his socks off but his career shows he isn't a goal scorer and Berahino did nothing (will he get a better chance than that back pass! And has now admitted he didn't celebrate against Gateshead because he thought he was injured and shouldn't play !!!!)
Sorry but Dawson is no where near good enough for the prem yet, makes stupid errors and doesn't clear his lines either when heading or with his feet- his mistake led to penalty.
Thought Mcmanamen did ok but faded a bit and G-Mac did ok.
Still didn't deserve to lose 3-0 though and created enough to get back into the game.
Bad luck- yes
Poor defending - yes
Playing good team with a goalie on form-yes
TP / Lescott at LB to blame - nope

Oh and as for Irvine, we were poor yesterday but no where near the shite endured under that clueless idiot. Would have been 5 or 6 nil under that waste of space.

I agree with points apart from the last one, Irvine was the clueless idiot who won at Spurs and "only" lost 2-0 at Chelsea and 1-0 at home to Arsenal.

I cannot see the reasoning of playing our best CB at LB, we should always play to our strengths.

Lets hope we get some new faces in quick

Spurs always seem to beat us at The Hawthorns these days, so this game had HOME DEFEAT written all over it. A point was the most I would have expected, but our defence had to be top notch and we had to put away our chances. We've still got decent fixtures to come and we should just put this game behind us.

They scored from 2 set pieces, one being a penalty (was it really a pen? Could be argued) and their Keeper was outstanding, that save off Morrison poss save of the season. We hit the bar too.

I thought Foster could have done better with the free kick and especially the second goal, he didn't even extend his arm? Curious but maybe he knew it was already in.

3-0 flattered them to be honest, it could have been so much different, so I'm not panicking and not blaming TP one iota.
And I agree with most AFI was clueless and way out of his depth, all the wins we had under him were more luck than by design with the exception of Burnley who were woeful back then.

Foster
Wisdom G-Mac Dawson Lescott
Gardner Fletcher
Mcmanamen Morrison Brunt
Berahino
Anyone notice what's strange about that team(and no it's not Lescott at LB )
ALL BRITISH ! Obviously Berahino berundi born but now English.
Very rare in the modern day premier league !
