He had a couple of good games, but generally very underwhelming.

Jon Russell signs for the B Team.

- Jon Russell signs for the Huddersfield Town B Team
- Midfielder signs contract running until 2023
- Former Chelsea man played for Accrington on loan last season

We’re delighted to announce that midfielder Jon Russell has today joined the Huddersfield Town B Team squad!

Why are we signing players specifically to play for the B Team? If, at 20 years old, he's only good enough for B Team football, is he good enough at all?

I know nothing about this guy but already I like him. Central Midfielder and 6'4"......at last some height in our midfield

Not to poke my unwanted nose in but Jon Russell looks like a bloody good signing to me.

If he got 26 games for Accrington last season he is going to be challenging for a place with you. You'd have struggled to beat them last season. He's big, good-looking, has been through a top academy. He's a bit of a gamble, but if he wasn't, you wouldn't be in the running for him would you?

If you've got 18 players better than him I'm betting on you for the play-offs at least.

Anyone that was recently in the Chelski Academy recently must have had something about him. Shit happens, injuries, change of staff, budgets get shifted, who knows. They can't keep kids in the Academy forever and if they don't think they are quite good enough for them, they'll let them go.

Out of interest, this was the England U20 squad that won the 2017 World Cup - there's plenty of "where-are-they-now's" amongst them.
