RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (24 August) - Worldclassalbion - 25-08-2017 I've heard that Gareth Bale is known as the old Oliver Burke ![]() RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (24 August) - Baggievicar - 25-08-2017 Do you think it's significant that we've signed someone with ears that look like the handles on the FA Cup? RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (24 August) - Beefy 1965 - 25-08-2017 Sounds like Chadli is on his way And seems we are waiting for another City offer for Evans, http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41054412 RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (10 August) - Mosestheballwinner - 25-08-2017 (25-08-2017, 09:56)4evaabaggie Wrote:(25-08-2017, 08:18)Mosestheballwinner Wrote:(24-08-2017, 17:17)4evaabaggie Wrote: Beefy are you sure his name is Oliver not ima, I can see it now, tomorrow you'll being saying " I can t believe I fell for it, ima burke" Sorry pal, eyesights getting worse. I'm exiled in Glasgow. RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (24 August) - BaggieSteve - 25-08-2017 Hi Moses, I live in Peebles in the Borders. I moved to Scotland in 1981 and lived in Glasgow for the first 17 years RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (24 August) - May68 - 25-08-2017 Has anyone watched Burke for Leipzig last year? We've bought him from them for roughly the same fee they paid for him, which suggest to me that while they are not desperate to get rid of him, they are also not desperate to keep him either. I know times have changed but weren't we all laughing not so long ago about Shevchenko going to Chelsea for £30m as a 30 year old. For me though the main problem isn't the money, if your injured your injured but last time I checked injuries prevent you from playing international football so how is he already called up to the NI squad and looking likely to play but for us he's injured. I'm sorry but what happened to the days of a player earning their transfer by playing well week in week out all the way up to the transfer and not crying out as soon as a club is interested. I'm sorry I'm tired of supporting players that just don't want to be here. Don't get me wrong I know all footballers are mercenaries these days but how about even a little respect for the thousands of people who spend a large proportion of their disposable income on watching you and making the sport as lucrative as it is. Time to get rid of players that don't want to be here and get in ones that do! Haven't seen much of him for them, but an earlier poster suggested he didn't set the world on fire. That said, he was used a fair bit from the bench, so they obviously thought something of him. I'm guessing either they decided he might not live up to the original potential or he might've been homesick and wanted to move on. He did feature for them in preseason, so it seems he was in their plans a few weeks ago. We can only speculate if they decided he wasn't good enough or if he pushed the move through. There's no doubt that it's a bit of a gamble, but at least it's the right sort of intent, a pacy attacking player who is young and has potential. He's a twenty year old laddie who was learning his trade at one of the wealthiest clubs in the bundesligue. Its no surprise he found it a bit hard to adjust tactically. I think he will do fine for you. |
