Seems a strange one to me but if we do sign him then its a young striker probably on Adil Nabi's level and another option if TP ever needs it.

What also is strange is that we have done the exact same thing with Alex Jones who has looked quite promising in our under 21's scoring a few goals. He has had trials at Birmingham and I think Walsall in the past few months.

"Another Andy Carroll style deal, someone needs to kick that FCB out." (Presumably comparing losing Campbell to having sold Carroll in 2011.  For those who don't speak Geordie, "FCB" = Fat Cockney Bastard, i.e. Mike Ashley)

"Pardewed!" (Implication that Alan Pardew either held back Campbell's progress or just froze him out of the team)

"I remember watching him in under 17's in Ireland and he looked quality! Think we will regret this one getting away. West Brom aren't mugs so could be a great move for him. All the best fella."

"Proper coaching will help his chances of making it."

"Surprised at this - thought that he had a longer term contract at Newcastle. Just typical of our club at the moment."

Obviously have to crack a salt shaker over these because they hate their own club so much.

Yeah, that's a fair point. Obviously he was reasonably well-rated not so long ago though, given that he made appearances in the Europa League and a few cup games (something Nabi hasn't managed for us yet).

I asked my mate who supports Newcastle and he was highly rated and he told me he's rapid, which is always a big plus fpr us.

I think this is worth a discussion,Would you take Afobe from Wolves or would you like to see us go for someone more proven or perhaps another Championship striker like Rhodes or Gestede?

Re Benik Afobe/Albion stories: I'm still awaiting calls back, but I've spoken to people at #wba who reckon he's not a target. #wolves #wwfc

I think we've also got a year's option on Boaz Myhill.
I'd be surprised but quite happy if we got Michu. Proven in the Prem.

RE: WBA Transfer Window: (Summer 2015) Starting early.. - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 07-05-2015

Only thing I worry about with Michu is whether he was a bit of a one-season wonder. Not sure exactly what happened with him at Swansea, but they don't seem all that bothered about having him back, which is a surprise given that they've now lost Bony and that Gomis isn't exactly a goal-machine.

Even a ghost of the 2012-13 Michu would be welcome here, but what we don't need is another sicknote or Samaras-style wage tourist.

RE: WBA Transfer Window: (Summer 2015) Starting early.. - wba_1996 - 07-05-2015

I wouldn't touch Michu with a bargepole. He is 29 now and has been injured since November 2014 - only making 3 appearances this season.
