Don't know what to say

Someone help me please Sick

The West Ham Game at set Pieces was bad enough and now again today,

Yep irvine went more attacking today (not hard though) but what does he do week in week out in training at defending set pieces Huh

Yes we were crying out for Ideye but at the expense of Saido Huh

I said it when AI was appointed if he is still in charge come January we will be relegated,

A point away against a dross Hull a Lucky Og against Leicester , and a win against Ten Man Villa (For over a hour)has merely papered over the cracks and kept AI in a Job ...... Unfortunately Doh

Team for Man City:

Foster
Wisdom-McAuley-Lescott-Pocognoli
Mulumbu-Yacob
Sessegnon-Gardner-Varela
Berahino

Revert back to the 4-2-3-1 to help us out defensively because today and last week, the 4-3-3 with Dorrans, Morrison and Gardner left too much space just in front of our back 4.

When Man City have possession, which will be a lot of the time, we should defend in a deep 4-4-2 with Sessegnon and Varela dropping back to form a second bank of 4 and Berahino dropping back alongside Gardner. Defending like this will give Man City's back 4 more time in possession but it will stop them from being able to play easy passes into their midfield. It will mean guys like Silva and Nasri having to drop very deep to get the ball which will be good for us because they will be further away from our goal. We should also defend very compactly with our widest players (RB, RM, LB and LM) positioning themselves in line with the edge of our penalty area on their respective side. This compactness in defence will restrict the space in the centre of the pitch for Man City to utilise. This will make them have to take a longer route to get through or revert to crosses which McAuley and Lescott can deal with.

When we have the ball, we should look to move it from back to front at speed through Sessegnon and Varela. Berahino should be more flexible with his movement like he was earlier in the season to drag defenders out of position allowing more space for Sessegnon and Varela. Ideye did it well for our second goal yesterday. Gardner will provide the extra support.

I think we can get a draw at least if the players stay switched on for the whole 90 minutes. We will have to do a lot of defending which will require concentration and communication and then when we have the ball, we will need to make it count by using it correctly and efficiently.

Being laughed at by a fecking Sheffield Wednesday fan.

New depths. Damn you Irvine.

I wouldn't lay too much store by anything that Wednesday fan says.

Sorry to say this DD but, after supporting them for over 50 years, I too don't care anymore Thumb down

Clubs like the Albion have no chance the way that Premier League funding favours only the few who already have:-
More money
More fans
More seats
More attention.
More TV time.

I've probably said it before but, I wish the 'so called' big teams would p**s off and join a European league and leave the rest of us to play on a level playing surface.

All this said and a supposedly canny JP appoints a twice failed Championship Manager having spent, by his standards, mega bucks on bringing players in, who the Numpty then hardly ever selects.

My love affair with football is all but over. Sick

To follow this depressing trend I too am at wits end. I am not so bothered about the money and winning the league. But I am fed up with the lack of ambition with the clubs appointment of coaching staff.

Roy was the one exception but obviously that fell in our laps and we had a purple moment JP seems unprepared to pay market rates for. Nothing with change until we appoint a replacement and agree that they can bring own staff with them.

RE: WBA Xmas/New Year Thread - albionmadandy92 - 21-12-2014

I think those of you, slick etc, digging at Irvine are wrong on yesterday's showing. The first thing about yesterday's lineup was desire to win the game. We did our inevitable heartbreaking thing, we attacked freely but we left far too many gaps at the back. This is far too typical for us where we simple bottle leads. It's nothing to do with tactics for me. The only change I would've called for was Saido for brown, but neither are sure fire bets to get us the third goal we needed. Pure and simple fact is, we ain't good enough, we lose our shape and gave their right winger acres of space. This wreaked of villa away for me from last season, a devastating defeat in a game we couldn't lose. It sucks being an Albion fan at the moment but hey, it's only a game eh :/

RE: WBA Xmas/New Year Thread - talkSAFT - 21-12-2014

I find it hard to blame Irvine for that.
3 corners - 3 goals.
I reckon our defence got a big Christmas bonus from Asian Bookmakers. (Don't quote me on that!!)
