If you haven't the halves to give the forwards a chance it doesn't make any difference what forwards you have on the pitch they won't perform - the two excellent centres by Brunt - corner and cross - proves the point.  Surprised Roddy wasn't played, and Sturridge given a half hour?
We can still make it with shrewder selection, and luck.

Just seen this comment from Pardew, I like the way we have been trying to play but his comment after the game on Saturday is strange anyone else note this

"I think we scored to early" ....................

What a team that have not won for 12 games the best thing we can do against them is score early surely Huh

You can never score a goal to early come on Pards Dodgy

Your right - Poor choice of words by AP - WBA were over run in midfield
AP should have put some younger legs on - Barry & Yacob were to slow i'm afraid.
Too late now. Tony Pulis would have flooded the midfield after the first goal, boring
but would most lightly have taken the 3 points

Welcome to Sportsbabble first of all mate, nice to see another fan getting stuck in and posting on here  Thumb up

What's painful is you may well be right there, still a little bit of doubt in my mind though as we did flooding the midfield bit against Watford and chucked a 2-0 lead away.

Have been mostly vocal in my support of Krychowiak since his arrival and felt we missed him as we don't have a real quality box to box midfielder to replace him. He's been the key player with some of our recently improved performances; and his play in the build up for the 2nd goal at Liverpool and particularly his pass for J Rod at Everton are the two great assists that spring to mind.

Just hoping for some positive news on our injuries now. A surprise reintroduction of Nacer Chadli sooner rather than later could be a real boost. If I remember right AP said it was about 2 months out for him after picking up the injury at Stoke.

I agree Sir M, I think Krychowiak has been really impressive these last few games under Pardew; it's as if he's been told to go and play football, as opposed to sit and defend. Like you, I'm not sure we would have held out under Pulis - apart from Watford, we failed to hold onto a two goal lead v Newcastle and then a one goal lead v Stoke.
Welcome Phil, like everyone else has said, it's great to hear another voice Thumb up
