RE: Match Thread - Newcastle Utd v SWFC - Olly - 27-12-2016 Fair enough Imre, appreciate your opinion. I also have have many years of supporting the owls, but not as long as some on here by a stretch. As for today, I saw it on the box and thought we did really well to limit them, they had only a few chances? Agree we miss chances which will cost us in games, it seems like we don't create enough clear cut chances which is why our stats are so bad for striking (rather than us missing sitters). But we played a better team today and won pretty comfortably. Last season we didn't do much against the top 5 so I will take that for today. We haven't invested like Newcastle so we can't just expect to go to them and steamroller them!! RE: Match Thread - Newcastle Utd v SWFC - Imre varadi - 27-12-2016 bring on preston pathetic !!! RE: Match Thread - Newcastle Utd v SWFC - St Charles Owl - 27-12-2016 Just watched it back after recording the game. Great team performance, rarely looked troubled at the back, midfield stuck to their job of breaking up their play and the front 2 were always creating space for an easy out pass from defence or midfield. Some of the movement from Forestieri/Fletcher/Reach and Wallace was great to see when we were going forward. Can't say anyone had a bad game, almost the perfect away performance at the best team in the division!! RE: Match Thread - Newcastle Utd v SWFC - OvalOwl - 27-12-2016 Feff me! We only bloody well won! I'm going to have to be preoccupied with the missus more often! RE: Match Thread - Newcastle Utd v SWFC - Was Wereham Owl - 27-12-2016 Had no tinterweb yesterday (THANKS SKY), but at least watched in 60" ultra high def 4k surroundsound lovliness, yes my wife to be bought me a new telly !!! Best performance for a long time in my book, as for Bannan & pudil Imre, thought they both had good games, Pudil was left exposed a little but coped very well and Banna did his job today and never gave them a minute on the ball , FF & Fletcher ran themselves ragged and looked every bit as good as Newcastles front 2, the back 5 really never poot a foot wrong, perfect away performance TBH ..Onwards and Upwards.. Newcastle for all they have spent didn't look any better then the Massive and Gayle can score , but what w whinging , diving xxxx he is , and at times the ref did his best for the Barcodes cause, they just didn't take advantage All in all .. the team and Carlos got this absolutely BANG ON !! I must say I thought we were very good, away at St James. We pissed some good chances away, but the men of the match really are Westwood, Hutch and their Keeper Darlow. Play like that the rest of the seasona nd there's little problem.. we won't though ![]() RE: Match Thread - Newcastle Utd v SWFC - Towinjustonce - 27-12-2016 Can't believe we got the win. Brilliant stuff....by all accounts Hutch was outstanding. Hopefully we can kick on from this now and have a promising second half to the season. We just need to do that sort of complete team performance for the rest of the season. In spite of past concerns by others I do believe CC does serious homework on all the opposites but unfortunately some of our non MENSA card carrying squad don't always understand the prescribed tactics or the portuenglish instructions send them to sleep before they've got the full message. Boss, what was I supposed to do when we get the ball into the penalty area with only the goalie there??? Just seen we're signing the ex-Wigan lad on loan from WBA so Buckley must be out long term and/or DC is really going for it as Att's and ours (especially MS) Christmas present. One game at time and all that but its never over until the fat lady sings in May. |
