RE: The Summer Friendlies Thread 2015 - Squirrel Regis - 26-07-2015 How about Mozza playing the number 10 roll in behind Berahino ? He always looks a good link between midfield and up front ? That is unless Saido is off to Spurs... RE: The Summer Friendlies Thread 2015 - Bournemouth Baggie - 26-07-2015 James McLean appears to have something of an attitude. I think TP has a job on his hands, poor tackle last night from all accounts. RE: The Summer Friendlies Thread 2015 - aries22 - 27-07-2015 Can anyone tell me exactly what this number 10 role is? Because if it's an attacking midfielder, we've got more than one 'number 10'. Bobby Hope wore number 10 for Albion but at the end of the day he was just another one of our midfielders alongside the likes of Tony Brown and Asa Hartford. The number 10 role has come to signify a playmaker acting as part-midfielder, part-striker, i.e. Kaka, Robinho, Messi, Fabregas, Neymar, or going back further, Maradona and Pele. Obviously it started out as more of a South American & European thing; in this country, we tended to like our number 10s to be good support strikers who could form a prolific partnership with the number 9. Agree that his link up play is one of his strengths too ![]() RE: The Summer Friendlies Thread 2015 - Squirrel Regis - 27-07-2015 Drewks, Exactly what I'm thinking, he always seems to play well when given an attacking role and with the 2 central midfielders sorted and wingers coming in Mozza is playing too well to drop. He went through a sticky spell but fair play he was excellent last season and really made me eat my words. ![]() RE: The Summer Friendlies Thread 2015 - WBA-Josh - 27-07-2015 (27-07-2015, 21:06)drewks Wrote:I agree. I would like to see Yacob and Fletcher in the centre of midfield with McManaman and Sako (if he signs) or McLean out wide and Morrison supporting Berahino. That in my opinion would give us a good balance between attack and defence.(26-07-2015, 00:01)Squirrel Regis Wrote: How about Mozza playing the number 10 roll in behind Berahino ? RE: The Summer Friendlies Thread 2015 - Squirrel Regis - 28-07-2015 Josh, Yep that would be looking like a good midfield and in the short term Rickie Lambert up front IF we do sell Berahino but if he does go it's got to be £20 million + so surely we could get Austin in ? Just need to get the full backs sorted and possibly another centre half. RE: The Summer Friendlies Thread 2015 - May68 - 28-07-2015 Full backs already sorted. When Chester signs we'll then have 5 centre-halves to potentially play there. RE: The Summer Friendlies Thread 2015 - Latecomer - 28-07-2015 The best '10' that the Prem has seen has got to be Bergkamp |
