Watch dejavu happen for Barnes if Leicester recall him. He’ll return to Leicester and be restricted to a couple of starts when Maddison is rested and then be used mainly as an impact sub.

We have 2 and a half months to get an idea of who to replace him with as a precaution at least.

Harvey Barnes going back to Leicester in January  Confused
The England youth international has been given something of a free role under Darren Moore, playing behind the two strikers.

Leicester clearly feel they have seen enough from the player to suggest that he could feature in their squad over the second half of the season.

Summer signing James Maddison has been impressing for the Foxes in the Premier League, with may suggest regular game time could be hard to come by, but the Foxes clearly want to keep his development a little closer to home.

Is this actually stated anywhere? All I can see is the usual press guesswork, putting 2 and 2 together all because a loan player is doing well at his loan club.

Sure, we need to have a Plan B in case he IS recalled, or injured..... and it'd be sensible to not rely on a loan player quite so much anyway of course! Thumb up

Have any previous ‘loan’ players we’ve taken on of late been as successful as Barnes or Gayle?
None Spring to mind.

Whistle

Not since Lukaku. The rest have either not been given a chance or have been woeful, as far as I remember. Mostly the former.

Ah, Lukaku!  I’d forgotten him Vicar...  I was there for Rom’s hat-trick in the 5-5 draw with Man Utd when Olsson missed an open goal in the last minute or so.  Fergie’s last  game as manager.

i think that if Leicester recall him(has as been said earlier)
he will be nothing more than a bench player
the guy is a class act
and destined to be an International player for the future
hopefully we can keep him till the end of the season

RE: WBA 2018/19 January Xfer Window - Blue Baggie - 10-10-2018

I would like to think we would sign Gayle, as for Barnes he maybe to expensive for us at £25 million.
Dack is another I identified in May, but not a bargain at £20 million.
Darren and our new DOF will be keeping our options open and of course our own youngsters maybe on the verge of stepping into the first team. No chance we will be signing anyone for mega amounts of money.

We're all a bit cynical (being Albion fans) but Jenkins isn't completely daft! 'Splash out in January to have a chance of doubling your money in the Prem' must be the message from China......surely!

Don't splash the cash and get into the Premier is what we are aiming for.  Whistle
