I would be a little surprised if he went to Chitty, he came here because he wanted first team football. He's a defender so one assumes he like to defend and he will get a fair bit of time defending at the Shrine. At City the only defending he would do, would be on his reasons he went to City to just sit on the bench on those cold frosty nights.

I think he would start for them.
He and a fit Vincent Kompany would be quite a defensive pairing.
I think Pep realises Stones isn't good enough and Otamendi is too inconsistant.
18 mil though is an absolute joke... More like 35 mil in todays market.
The big question is, if he did want to go and play Champions league football,
who could we possibly replace him with?
Kone's been linked, as has Ranocchia. Ben Gibson? We wont get him for under 30 mil!
The first two are not really good enough to replace Evans, and Gibson had one good season in the prem,
but still got relegated.
Without Evans I think our best CB partnership would be Hegazi and Macauley,
but together they would have to defend very deep to counter their lack of pace.
Personally I think Evans is irreplaceable right now, and we should not consider selling him unless some ridiculous
offer is made.
That being said, if he wants to go, how can the club stop him?

At the time we took Ahmed Hegazi on loan with option to buy, didn't Pulis mention they were also watching Hegazi's fellow centre-back at the Egyptian club Al Ahly SC and we were undecided which one to take?
If that's the case and JE does end up going to Citeh for mega bucks, might we have a built in replacement.

The more I think about this, the more I think we can use this situation to our advantage.
Like most of us I like Evans a lot and don't want him to leave. However if he wants to go and the price is right, money, as it usually does in football, will talk.
If, for example, we really want Delph, this affords us with an excellent opportunity to get him.
Good player though he is, Evans is not irreplaceable. My feeling is that the style of play at the Baggies where defenders are expected to operate in a relatively small area of the field, protected by one, if not 2, holding midfielders, and then hare upfield for set pieces, has enabled Evans, Macauley and Dawson to flourish. I don't really worry about defenders coming into the club because Pulis will give them the tools to make them better players. So, for the sake of argument, we could replace Evans, with say, Flint from Bristol City and the change could be relatively seamless. As has been said Hegazi is already showing signs of benefiting from "the Pulis way", then WBA can move upwards and onwards.

I wouldn't sell Evans unless they offer us s few players and a large sum of money. We can't get players through the door at the minute. Our squad is still threadbare. We don't really need the money do we?
Evans is head and shoulders above any defender we have been linked with so why sell him. Would appear Chadli is going out the door too but he wouldn't be missed as much as Evans in my opinion.

Would anyone be happy with Evans out for say £35 million (aged 29-30) and Wimmer (Spurs aged 24) 15 mil and Chambers (Arsenal 22) 20mil, both centre backs in as replacement.
And how about Chadli (aged 28) out £25 mil and Damari Gray (aged 21) Leicester release clause 12 mil in.
It's only conjecture ..... but would be two centre backs in one out and a midfielder/winger out one in. Gives us three players for two out and a 13 mil profit.
