I’m with you Beefy. Just before I logged onto the forum and saw your post I had just said exactly the same thing to my lad. Big Dave baffles me sometimes but I suppose with him starting Field and Harper, he needs balance of experience.

Playing pretty dreadful to be honest.
Mozza, Hoolahan and Robson Kanu doing decent. Townend getting about. Hegazi has made some important interventions.
The rest poor or just going through the motions. Defence looks even worse than in the league!
Field especially is having a nightmare, giving the ball away every time he has it. I realise he's playing out of position, but just can't seem to execute a simple pass. I know he's a local lad so people want to see him play, but from all the times I've seen him, he just looks like a basic midfield stopper. Was probably in his element under Pulis just covering passing lanes but he looks nowhere near Championship class if we're going to dominate games with the ball.
Harper needs to do something except play backwards and square. I have no idea why young player when given their big chance against real opposition just want sit in their shell. Looks a big lad but that's about it.
Really can't get my head around why Burke never gets a game. I saw enough of him at Forest to know he offers more than the majority of players starting for us.

Starting line-up and substitutes smacked of a team that didn't want to be in the competition. Can understand that to an extent because league is priority and game came during busy period. Midweek games last week and next week, but still, pretty drab.

Disgusting performance. If there's no intention to progress in the cup, Moore should put a statement out beforehand letting us know it's going to be a MUCH weakened team, many including myself could then have saved our time and money.
Fair enough not starting the regulars, but they should at least be on the bench. To not include Phillips, Rodriguez or Barnes at all, then not bring on Gayle or Burke shows a lack of ambition and respect for the fans.
Absolutely no attacking threat at all. HRK was useless and shouldn't be anywhere near a starting place.
Not happy.

Oh dear dear dear I did say didn’t I. What hurts most is knowing that palace yet again come back to haunt us I hate that team more than most coz of that smug flash smarmy spunk bubble Jordan and giving him chance to haunt us again. When did we last beat that lot was it when big Dave scored in the 2-0 victory that saw us promoted all those years ago coz it feels like it and why can’t we even score against them surely they’re not that good and oh the irony of uncle woy to put the final nail in it the FA stole him off us he was a total embarrassment at the euros gets the push turns up at palace back to the hawthorns and another bloody thrashing at 0-1 HT Gayle Rodriguez and Barnes should have been on the pitch for entire second half coz we know we can’t defend but we can score but not with tonight’s horrid line up I’m embarrassed and pissed off welcome back to premiership opposition same ole same ole
