Of all the available people out there you need to look at the facts the needs the funds the bigger picture as they say in boardrooms across the land. The facts are there are no messiahs coming to our aid. We need somebody with premiership experience and tenacity and a track record of keeping a relegation threatened club up. In my mind that leaves us with very little choice. Those championing McKinnes course I say forget it right now. One failed stint in the english league and doing a reasonable job in the scottish premier is not anywhere near enough to managing a relegation battle in the prem. All the foreign managers with little or no prem experience likewise. Forget it. So its allardyce pardew O'neill or Koeman. Koeman it appears simply isn't interested nor are we in him. Allardyce seems to upset so many of the fans here that we'd be on his back faster than flys on the proverbial if we didn't see immediate results. O'neill hard to say but he couldn't help Sunderland and he's been away from the prem a fair while now, so that leaves Pardew? It sounds as though hes got an interview, he's got the experience, he has been backed by an ex player of his in Dean Ashton as a man who can bring the fun back in training not just 'ard werk and the odds are now 1/5 and so it looks as if the writing is on the wall. Over the years I've always thought of him as being straight talking no nonsense reasonably intelligent in football terms and fairly down to earth although when things do fall apart he does strike me as being somewhat of a defeated man with half a foot to the gallows pole. But I also think he was hard done by in some of his previous jobs west ham and newcastle spring to mind. However I think hes worth a punt though and of all the suspects available we could do a lot worse. RE: Tony Pulis' replacement - WBA-Josh - 24-11-2017 Pardew - https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/4990987/alan-pardew-west-brom-tony-pulis/ A report from Jim Whyte also says that Ronald Koeman has turned down the chance to talk to us. Having read about his treatment of Niasse at Everton, he looks like Pulis Light when it comes to man-management of players he doesn't want and he has gone down in my estimation because of that. RE: Tony Pulis' replacement - Slick_Footwork - 24-11-2017 The names linked are for best part, quite disappointing. It seems our only criteria is Premier League experience. Bilic and Koeman have reportly rejected talking to us, but from my point of view, I'm not sure why they are on our radar anyway. West Ham's football under Bilic was poor, while Koeman has just spunked hundreds of millions at Everton on players who can't do the basics. IMO, he's had a large share of failings in his managerial career for someone who is so highly rated. Hopefully we are casting the net far and wide 'under the radar'. But the way the press are talking, Pardew will be appointed by default. Not that i'd be bitterly disappointed with him, but I'd rather we interviewed a few 'outside the box' candidates.
