We're all behind you, Steve. If there's any justice left in the world that Semi final day will be a double for you! of course you just won't know it was, until your results Smile

I am sorry to hear about the step backwards regarding appetite.

Are you feeling any benefit from the pills?

I still have a good appetite. The problem is that I struggle to keep much down as the main cancer is in my oesophagus & stomach.

The pills are killing me but hopefully they are killing the cancer as well.

Well, I certainly hope it's the latter of the two.

RE: Madsteve - madsteve - 03-05-2016

After my last scan, they gave me six months, which takes me to September.

RE: Madsteve - madsteve - 18-06-2016

My latest scan results show that the tumour has grown slightly both in length & density.

This in itself isn't normally too bad (although I was hoping for a reduction) except that the location of the tumour is now causing me more eating problems meaning I cannot get much food into my system. They have offered me ten radiotherapy sessions over two weeks to try to reduce the density of the tumour. This isn't a cure but to improve my quality of life by allowing me to eat. As a temporary measure, they hope to put a tube into my stomach so I can get food in that way to keep me going.

Inevitably I am losing weight & feeling weak. There is a small chance (less than 1%) that the radiotherapy will kill me as they have to fire it through my lungs to hit the tumour so if I stop posting, you can probably guess what happened.

I had my first visit to the hospice this week. I suppose that is the way it is going. Yesterday was the worst day with lots of pain. Hopefully there are still a few more bright days ahead.

WAWAW!
