Personally never seem him play - capable of making it? Or was it a fall out following Adil's sale? Not good enough, probably a better prospect than Adil who can't get in Peterborough's side, but with Leko starting first team games at 2 years younger than him I think it shows the gap in quality. Not directed at anyone on here but it annoys me seeing some fans going mental on twitter and other forums every time we release or sell an academy player, it happened with Mantom, Thorne, D Daniels, A Nabi, Garmston etc. and none of them have gone on to prove us wrong. If you're good enough you get your chance - see Saido, Leko and Roberts who are truly talented prospects. Look hope the kid makes it but he has championship written all over his Roofe. FAO Saido And Up yours Mourinho !! - Beefy 1965 - 13-09-2016 Saido please read ............... Some great news at last ... Says that after years of telling Albion youngsters not to jump ship when a bigger club comes calling, it would have been hypocritical of him to do so himself. Good man. It was on at half-time in the Villa match, and unfortunately I don't think that'll be available on iPlayer, though you can check if you like. The general upshot was that he's put years of his life into the Academy - often to the detriment of spending time with his own family - and felt that he didn't want to just abandon that for something new, in addition to wanting to set an example to the young players he coaches. RE: Youth, Academy & Development XI Thread - BaggieMan - 22-12-2016 The classic example of 'jumping ship' is that of Izzy 'Look at my car' Brown who I doubt will ever achieve a permanent slot in the Chelsea first team squad and is now languishing at the foot of the Championship league table on loan with Rotherham. He was in front of Sado when he jumped ship and quite possibly could have been a regular member of our first team squad now, but perhaps he loves money more than playing footy. ![]() RE: Youth, Academy & Development XI Thread - BaggieMan - 05-02-2017 Interesting although disturbing comment by TP in his post-match interview by the BBC today (WBA 1-0 Stoke) was that although we have some amazing youngsters he: "was not happy with the way the Academy was run and is being run" http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38779287 towards the end of the interview. I wonder what is wrong.... ![]() RE: Youth, Academy & Development XI Thread - Beefy 1965 - 05-02-2017 I didn't hear that mate ? I may have to listen to that again, I thought he said he was happy, Also as soon as we get past 40 points hes going to throw all of them on for game time, He reeled of 4 names Leko & field obviously and two more the Rb and another name which escapes me ![]() The interview was on BBC BM... It was slightly different to that on Sky ..... On sky he was delighted and reckons we have 4 top quality guys ready to come in ... Yet the opinion on westbrom, com seems he was talking about the English academies as a whole, He did use the word dissatisfied, yet we have 4 top quality youngsters coming through ? So it's a bit confusing TBH ![]() RE: Youth, Academy & Development XI Thread - GlassEyedBomber - 18-09-2017 http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/reminds-bolasie-bristol-city-fans-13633399 |
