Great win. Full credit to the players and Hodgson

Nice break and good finish by Wellbeck!!

2-0 is a great result in what should be the hardest qualifier for England.

Happy with that and in addition to the result a few promising performances

RE: INTERNATIONAL THREAD vs Switzerland - consilio - 08-09-2014

Rooney is so much better up front. The difficulty now is fitting Sturridge back in?

A good all round performance.

Welbeck was outstanding. Sterling is a constant threat (nearly as good as Antonio). Rooney was better. Cahill led the defence well.

Hodgson has a tough selection issue eventually up front where Sturridge is our best player & Wellbeck is quality. Sterling looks best just behind the front two so where does Rooney fit in?

The next game is San Marino so he can play 235 (Pei's standard formation) & go for goals but eventually he will have to solve the problem up front. Sturridge & Sterling are the players to build the team round.

The midfield isn't that strong yet but Henderson is solid & Delph looks promising.

Jones has looked more the part in the last two games & Cahill has taken over the John Terry leader role at the back (& he is an Owl).

Rooney needs to play up front. He's who we should be building the team round
