The 25-year-old made 40 appearances in all competitions for the Pilgrims in the 2024-25 season. Wright, who is the Latics' fifth summer signing, could make his competitive debut in their League One season opener against Northampton Town on Saturday, 2 August. "I think the gaffer's system really suits me to a tee - and what he expects from his players is exactly what I'll bring to the team," he told the club website. The 19-year-old made his league debut for the Latics during a 2-0 defeat to Cambridge United in October and was a second-half substitute on the final day of last season against Northampton Town. "We are delighted that K'Marni has decided to extend his stay with the club," Wigan boss Ryan Lowe told the Latics' website., external "He's a fantastic young player who will only keep improving as he gains more experience". The 22-year-old made his Premier League debut for the Bees as a late substitute in the defeat at Tottenham Hotspur last September. Trevitt, who came through the ranks at non-league Leatherhead before being picked up by Brentford, has also made four cup appearances for the Bees. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Exeter City, his second spell with the Grecians after scoring five goals in 23 appearances for them in 2023-24. Latics head coach Ryan Lowe told the club website, external: "He's another goalscoring midfielder, who I think will be vital for us going forward. He comes from a good pedigree, and I am really looking forward to working with him. "I think he's a real coup for us - and we're really happy to have him on board." Wigan Athletic have completed the signing of Liverpool youngster Isaac Mabaya on a season-long loan. Mabaya, 20, was part of the Reds' Under-21 side, but he made his first-team debut as a substitute in their FA Cup defeat by Plymouth Argyle in February. But now the defender prepares for his first loan move in senior football. He is the seventh player to move to Wigan over the summer and is the second in less than 24 hours after Brentford midfielder Ryan Trevitt also joined on loan. The 31-year-old spent the past two seasons in the Championship with the Rs, playing a total of 48 games in all competitions. Before that, Fox was at Stoke City, playing 40 Championship games in 2022-23, and he has played almost 300 games in the second tier of English football, after starting out at Charlton Athletic and also playing for Sheffield Wednesday. Fox was announced to Latics fans at half-time of their opening game of the season against Northampton Town at the Brick Community Stadium on Saturday. He has been playing regularly in the Championship for the majority of his career and will be a real asset to us both on and off the field. RE: Pies news - themaclad - 03-09-2025 Wigan Athletic have signed Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper Toby Savin on a one-year deal as well as bringing in Swansea midfielder Ollie Cooper and Coventry winger Raphael Borges Rodrigues on loan for the rest of the season. Wales international Cooper, 25, has made 117 appearances in all competitions for the Swans since his debut in 2021. He has featured once for Swansea this season, coming on in their Carabao Cup win at home to Crawley Town in August. Savin has played 27 times for Shrewsbury in all competitions since joining the club last June, including twice in League Two this season. The 24-year-old spent time on loan at Barnet and Halifax Town in the National League during the second half of last season. Known as Raphael, Netherlands-born Australia Under-23 international Rodrigues started his career at Melbourne City, winning the A-League, before joining rivals MacArthur FC in 2023. Now 21, he signed a four-year deal at Coventry in May 2024 and made his first starts for the club in the EFL Cup last month, as well as providing an assist in their home win over Queens Park Rangers in one of two Championship appearances this season. "I'm hoping I can help the team get back to the Championship," Rodrigues told Wigan's website, external. "I am excited to get in front of the fans and hopefully I can give them a lot to cheer about this year." |
