RE: The Owls v Oxford Utd L1 Match Thread - Statesideowl - 03-10-2021 Should be playing three up front and battering teams 4-2 or at least trying to. But no, we have one recognised striker defending near the halfway line.. it's fking ridiculous Our defence is clearly bobar, the gap between Iorfa and Dunkley is so wide it causes no end of trouble. Only Hutch can cover it and he snapped having to do so. Can anyone but Palmer play LB and put Hunt at RB? Can we start expecting the cross to be overhit and position accordingly. Oh, and learning to pass a football should be a pre requisite for the job but fk me apparently not. RE: The Owls v Oxford Utd L1 Match Thread - Imre varadi - 04-10-2021 The players are less naturally gifted in the game today in all age groups due to the way we live in this horrible age that i believe they have to spend all training sessions focusing on positioning and movement hence they can't do the simple things like pass tackle and shoot . It's hilarious how completely dogshit the modern game is half off these players wouldn't last 5 minutes in a Sunday league pitch ...which incedently for us is what's happening (sigh) ...I'm going to need some really strong drugs to get through next week and the thought of playing in the pizza cup while lying midtable in the pub league and there's no light at the end of the tunnel either because Saturday we are playing a team who 3 seasons ago where written off for dead ....ffs you've gotta laugh ! RE: The Owls v Oxford Utd L1 Match Thread - Statesideowl - 04-10-2021 I'd definitely agree there's something to that, modern game of athletes with no talent. This is being normalised as the academies only seem to produce middle class kids with double barrel name's. Sewn themselves up with a lifetime of good pay for no return whatsoever, like everything else in Britain. The cones do my fking head in. The coaches have the players dancing in and out of cones.. Thinking it looks good for some reason? That's how you get outplayed by Morecambe and Oxford. By being talentless and tactically inept RE: The Owls v Oxford Utd L1 Match Thread - Owlkev71 - 04-10-2021 One thing that annoys me is how one footed players are these days, there doesn't seem to be many players who can use both feet these days. I remember when I used to play in the back garden just hitting a ball against a wall and then controlling it, alternating between left & right footed just to become comfortable with both feet. Players these days just stick to there preferred foot, having no idea how to use the other one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Sheffield_Wednesday_F.C._managers RE: The Owls v Oxford Utd L1 Match Thread - Southeyowl - 04-10-2021 Well i have finally seen us lose! Fecking shocking! best team won, only issue i have with Oxford, is that they started to time waste as soon as they scored. reminded me of Forrest under billy Davies. They were first to every ball and just wanted it more! shocking officials again too! The lino on the south and the ref both give us a goal kick, when BPF had made a great save form a shot on goal! Think he then realised he had fecked up, because 5 minutes later there was a blatant goal kick to us and the prick flagged for a corner! Rest assured, i let him know how shit he was, when i went for a piss during the first half! RE: The Owls v Oxford Utd L1 Match Thread - Imre varadi - 04-10-2021 I see pullis wins shitest manager of all time beating Eustace ...and Dm is on par with Monk like we noticed ... RE: The Owls v Oxford Utd L1 Match Thread - Statesideowl - 04-10-2021 Shocking list of dross RE: The Owls v Oxford Utd L1 Match Thread - Maddix - 04-10-2021 (04-10-2021, 11:47)Owlkev71 Wrote: One thing that annoys me is how one footed players are these days, there doesn't seem to be many players who can use both feet these days. It makes me scream Kev ![]() ![]() I did the same with my arms too so that I could play cricket, darts, snooker and pool with either hand ![]() ![]() RE: The Owls v Oxford Utd L1 Match Thread - Imre varadi - 05-10-2021 Forget left foot right foot ...if they could just use one it would be a start ...crossing a ball, passing, shooting and being able to move forward maybe a dribble here and there what happened to these players who could actually beat a man with the ball at his feet ? God i hope Bannan plays today and gets done for the season along with palmer that's the only thing Im rooting for ! RE: The Owls v Oxford Utd L1 Match Thread - Owlkev71 - 05-10-2021 Adeniran POTM. |
