RE: January 2021 transfer news - who's in and who's out? - hibeejim21 - 02-07-2021 (02-07-2021, 13:03)0762 Wrote: https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hibs/celtic-eye-move-for-ps4m-rated-kevin-nisbet-with-leigh-griffiths-mooted-as-makeweight-3294020 This may well be what happens, but I'd rather sell Nisbet to a club down south and pick up sparky on a free next season if it comes to it. RE: January 2021 transfer news - who's in and who's out? - 0762 - 02-07-2021 Aye! I must say I'm surprised no interest has come in from English footie clubs yet esp after the interested parties who "arrived on the scene" during the January transfer window. RE: January 2021 transfer news - who's in and who's out? - HerefordBull - 03-07-2021 Probably watched Porteous and Nisbet in the latter part of the season and thought......meh, no ![]() Doig only one that seems to be creating interest at present down South. RE: January 2021 transfer news - who's in and who's out? - hibeejim21 - 03-07-2021 Hibs have had much, much better young players than Nisbet. If the Tims are seriously offering that kind of dough (4Mill) I'd take it. RE: January 2021 transfer news - who's in and who's out? - 0762 - 03-07-2021 Re Doig, I think he has all the requisite attributes to be a vg player in English footie and a lotta interested English footie observers realise that as well. RE: January 2021 transfer news - who's in and who's out? - hibeejim21 - 03-07-2021 Agree re: doig, but I still think he needs another season in Scotland before he moves on. But as ever with us, if the money is right..... RE: January 2021 transfer news - who's in and who's out? - 0762 - 04-07-2021 We may just hold on to him during Hibs Euro footie period with a bit of luck - good experience for him and others. However, I reckon he'll be transferred out in August. Agreed he's still a "rough diamond" with a lot to learn. RE: January 2021 transfer news - who's in and who's out? - HerefordBull - 05-07-2021 Very much so 0762. I would like him to stay for at least a year and continue to learn and prove himself, much as Tierney did at Celtic before a big money move. I don't think he is ready at this time and of course you never know how players are going to react once they are put into a higher profile situation as would be the case at a big club in England. Tierney had that extra time to be able to cope and adjust to the changes at Arsenal, not least being so far from Glasgow. Not all players adapt. ![]() RE: January 2021 transfer news - who's in and who's out? - hibeejim21 - 05-07-2021 Tierney was also run into the ground by celtic, and played a lot of games he didn't need to. I feel thats where his injury record stems from. I hope we go a bit easier on Doig and manage his talent a bit better. |
