RE: Ins & Outs 2016 - peiowl - 19-09-2016 I thought he'd already gone. I would imagine we'd have to pay off their contracts which I also imagine would still count towards FFP. Thats correct, plus if they are on a 3 year contract then we can spread the cost towards FFP over three years, whereas if we terminate their contract we would have to pay it off and all of that would show up in that year rather than being spread out. Transfer list them for nothing more than the cost needed in order to get rid of them ![]() RE: Ins & Outs 2016 - peiowl - 19-09-2016 (19-09-2016, 21:59)St Charles Owl Wrote:(19-09-2016, 21:21)Maddix Wrote:(19-09-2016, 20:15)Was Wereham Owl Wrote: Is there a reason we cannot terminate (mutually or otherwise) a players contract at this stage of the season, surely if we can it would get deadwook off our wage bill and other teams could pick up the players on a free ..or am I missing something ?? What is the supposed purpose of FFP? Seems to be holding clubs back. FOOLING FOOTBALL PERMANENTLY ![]() As Imre alluded to, it's a way of keeping the peasants in check but it will all come tumbling down eventually. People get bored with the same old same old and once Rupert and his ilk can't get the populace to pay for subscriptions anymore we'll see how FFP works then ![]() My heaven would be BT, Sky etc pulling the plug one day and saying 'sorry but the audience has moved on and want to watch table tennis now so that contract we had won't be renewed, bye' ![]() ![]() |
