RE: Ins & Outs 2016 - St Charles Owl - 02-09-2016

As Owlskev says, I think this reflects worse on the player and his people that on the club. The club agreed to a loan deal and agreed to pay his wages, and all this with a club in the Championship, so for his agent to try to get the deal changed after it was all agreed was a pretty stupid move which ultimately backfired for Dielna.

Players who are not getting a sniff of the squad will always be disgruntled, and understandably so, but if they are not good enough then they are not good enough. The club made it clear they could leave and seems to have been trying to facilitate that in Dielna's case, but we have obviously had no serious offers for them. Surprised no one came in for McGugan, thought he would find something but it wasn't to be.

Bus, Mcgugan and Dielna training with and playing with the development squad isn't great. I doubt they're rubbing off on the youngsters in a positive manner.

Look at Schweinsteiger at Man U, he's training with the kids at Man U after Jose froze him out, even happens to quality players.

Don't know why we don't just release them, or mutually terminate there contracts, other clubs do that. There aren't many clubs apparently after them apart from Dielna.

McGugan is a talented player but a renowned Diva. It's a shame because these players hold themselves back with the wrong mentality.

Bus, Quite frankly I've never, ever seen enough of him and like Stevie May he'll be wishing he never hears the name Sheffield Wednesday again regarding career choices.

With regards to Dielna such players were deemed surplus some time ago, which makes me wonder why something hadn't done about it earlier than deadline day. The players may be complacent enough to sit and get paid but surely, again someone in a role like a DOF would be finding suitable clubs and negotiating deals for these players. CC & DC wouldn't have to mess with it.
Or offer to mutually terminate the contracts as you say, Kev.

Not quite sure who actually deals with player transfers, in or out. CC has stated he talks to just the player when looking to sign someone and DC obviously puts any transfer fee up. I wonder who deals with the agent/other club negotiations?

RE: Ins & Outs 2016 - St Charles Owl - 02-09-2016

I am not sure DC or CC are dealing with it, but I couldn't tell you who actually is, I would imagine Joe Palmer as COO or John Redgate as Finance Director might be involved!! CC said in a pre season program on 5 Live that he never talks to agents, he only ever talks to his players, so I am not sure he would be involved in any transfer dealings.

Mutual termination is an option for these guys, but that actually hurts the club if they have to pay off the contract, particularly if it runs beyond this season, as that will impact FFP. From a players perspective, its a bit of a risk to jack in your job in the hope someone else comes along, I think a few would happily sit and get guaranteed pay and hope to get a move rather than forcing it.

RE: Ins & Outs 2016 - Statesideowl - 02-09-2016

Bit of a mess really. Especially with the emergency loan scrapping, these players are at the Club for four more months at least. I hope during this period we can look at possibilities for them.

Meanwhile, with the window closed for now. Do we have a squad capable enough of doing the job expected of them, or are we still left a bit thin hoping we don't pick up any knocks?

Tough Championship this year, some very high calibre players in it. I can see a top ten finish. However, PO and qualification through it is a huge ask.

RE: Ins & Outs 2016 - St Charles Owl - 02-09-2016

Its time for their agents to step up and earn their wad of money to help get these guys a move. I am sure the club would give permission for them to talk to other clubs with a mind towards the January window.

As regards the squad, its too thin in places but the reality of all of the teams in the championship is that if you get hit by a few key injuries, you will always struggle to adequately replace them and maintain performances and results. Its really no different at any level, Man City fans are worried about losing Aguero due to his elbowing in the last game, they cannot hope to have anyone in the wings that will perform as good as he does. Like other teams we have a core of 14-15 players who could all be in the first team, after that there is a drop off but that is always the case.

Automatics will be very tough, but looking at the squad we have compared to other teams I am struggling to see 6 teams that will finish above us. Of course that is providing we perform up to our capabilities, over to CC for that one.

RE: Ins & Outs 2016 - Statesideowl - 02-09-2016

Certainly can't disagree about the agents.

The thing about Clubs such as Citeh, is that their academy/development squads boast a wealth of talent that they can blood at any time should things turn South regarding injuries.

I mentioned before, this season Carlos is really going to have to earn his money, it's going to take a lot from the squad too!

Perhaps DC is waiting until after Xmas to determine which further additions are necessary?

Personaly you can shuve the lot up you're arse ! I don't give a flying xxxx if we are not promoted it's a big fail and shuve it up you're arse again !

RE: Ins & Outs 2016 - Statesideowl - 03-09-2016

I see Man City also rid themselves of that shite keeper Hart. Whistle

I think Schweingsteiger, pig fcuker whatever is part of Manures 25 squad.
