Sir Megson, trouble is hope springs eternal, every window we get media talk and other rumours of this player, that player, and although you know 99% is just press manure you can't help get a little sucked in.

I tend not to believe most hype but hope still rises a little, but I hate us being linked to all the bargain basement injury prone has been, it sends out a bad image of our club, I always hate the made up hype of Albion signing x, y and z on Monday then Tuesday headlines Albion lose out to Accrington Stanley who offered a better beef and bodily pie.

But human nature still sucks you back in next time. Hope springs eternal.

Piggin spell checker .... we don't do bodily pie that would be at the custard bowl .... beef and bovril pie.

"Tony Pulis wants to send Sam Field and Jonathan Leko out on loan to learn the Finer arts"

going to be a 6 a side squad soon.

The lads will be texting their mates soon to see if they can help out on a Saturday 3.00 Kick off!

Love the idea of Field and Leko learning to make eggshell porcelain, and perhaps doing a bit of needlepoint.

He must be confident we're bringing a fair few faces in then. 'Cos he should have loaned them out last year but couldn't because we were short on numbers.

Express & Dingle

West Brom are still hopeful of making defensive additions with Napoli’s Ivan Strinic being lined up as a new left-back option.

Another day passes by where any potential signings don't get to gel with the threadbare squad and if we do sign anyone knowing our luck (read the clubs lacklustre dealings) they won't be ready to play until October due to lack of fitness.

I have no issue with the fact we won't be signing either of these. Never rated Smalling and Gibson is over priced.

I understand frustration but if we sign 3 quality players before the end of the transfer window I'd be happy, anything more it's a bonus.

We just need to relax and put our feet up, no use in us fans worrying about something we can't affect! Smile

RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (25 July) - Sir Megson - 31-07-2017

Quite right bomber. We have a month from tomorrow to get some new faces in, the fact we've already made what's looking to be three shrewd acquisitions in Hegazi, Rodriguez and Zhang is encouraging as they are all improvements on players we've let go.

It would be fantastic to land a signing this window that makes jaws drop and gets people talking about us, but if we continue our business like we've started it and strengthen at full back and in midfield particularly - and are then able to let the likes of Field and Leko get a loan, then that would be a good window in my book.

RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (25 July) - Stairs - 31-07-2017

So far this has been my worse transfer window because I actually feel we needed to spend and build a squad earlier than usual.

We are starting to look like a last resort club for those that could not get gigs with the 'bigger' clubs.

If we had made a few early signings then it would have sent a positive message of intent. Instead, the failure and bad press that gets associated to it eg player x prefers club Y over Albion is now setting the mark. Players will feel it's not a positive career move to come to us!

Seriously depressed for the first time in ages and need a shock signing to put things right!
