I am just holding my breath that we get to 40 points soon.

The positive side to this is that it has clearly underlined to JP how awful the entertainment is. He watches it most of the weeks as well and must watch other football and be able to make comparisons.

I honestly think we are a worse team than last season.
Can't wait for the season to end to be honest.
We need to spend big on players and get a new manager in.

I will admit that my views on Pulis may not be the most balanced - I hated his style of football at Stoke and don't buy into his apparent change at Palace which certainly wasn't on show against us in the cup. I was against his appointment and am not at all surprised by where we now find ourselves - probably safe in the league but forced to endure negative, dull defensive football. What shocked me yesterday was what has happened to the mood of our fans. I used to travel regularly in the dark days of the 80's and 90's and invariably enjoyed the days out - even our worst defeats (e.g. Halifax in the cup) were met with a degree of dark humour. Yesterday however there was a palpable undercurrent of anger even before we went behind and I believe the source of this anger is our style of football and the frustration of seeing a premier league team being outplayed by an apparently more skilful, more adventurous, more creative lower division team.....again. What happened after the game was unforgivable but sadly not too surprising. I see that in an official statement the club has asked for the supporters to get behind the team against Palace - I would say to them that they also have a duty to their paying customers to play the game in a way that helps us get behind them, try entertaining us for a change.
I don't expect this to happen of course. One thing I do know is that if Pulis is still there next year, I won't be. And after around 30 years of having a season ticket, that's a hard thing to write.

Great post, Zinman - from the heart.  Thumb up

Personally I welcomed TP's appointment - it kept us up last season - but I really feel a crossroads has now been reached. We are losing our soul as a club; I still like TP as a person, but enough is enough.

Tony Pulis should leave at the end of the season. Once gone, this club needs a big shake up yet again. New players need to be brought in, some of the old guard need to leave and a new Head Coach with forward thinking ideas need to be brought in to lead the shake up. The new Head Coach will need the backing of Peace and the board with funds to really change the playing personnel.

As long as the new Head Coach speaks English then to me it doesn't matter which country they are from as long they are a good fit for the job with the skills required for the job. We could look at home for a British coach like Derek McInnes, David Moyes or Brendan Rodgers or we could look abroad at foreign coaches like Jens Keller, Phillippe Montanier or Nuno Espirito Santo. There are plenty of good options out there and I hope Peace will make the right one when he has to.

Josh

Personally I believe Pulis should be shown the door as soon as possible and appoint a new Head Coach to see us through the remainder of the season.

Why now and not wait you will ask.

The new person would have 10/12 games to fully assess the playing staff we currently have and identify our needs and weaknesses. Appointing in the closed season would not allow this and he could only rely on opinions of the existing staff, Pulis' staff, and not his own conclusions.

Secondly, there seems to be a number of suitable prospective coaches available right now and they may not be available come summer.

RE: Should Pulis be manager next season? - drewks - 21-02-2016

Following the last 2 posts from Josh and BaggieMan, I'd imagine that if JP WAS going to replace TP in the summer he'd be sounding out possible replacements now; even possibly agreeing a pre contract deal with someone.
They could then use the remainder of the season to determine needs, players etc as BaggieMan suggests

West Brom are currently seen as 'toxic' by most other clubs and fans. We are also seen as 'toxic' by our own fans.

Tony Pulis is the reason for this and JP will act.

The sooner the better.

baggieman, I was one of the yes voters, it was a very narrow yes, I could cope with defensive football for a short term , a couple of years, if it served a purpose of long term improvement, after Saturdays debacle where Albion fans turned on each other and worse much worse, unforgivable, I can never find any reason for throwing coins at any players, it is moronic but at your own that is indescribable, I can not find the words to describe my anger, disappointment and my embarrassment. The balance has now tipped, to turn such a great, friendly club as ours into this warring bunch of idiots is the final straw, TP now has to be removed, we need to save and rebuild our reputation and our place in people's hearts as most people's second favourite club. .......

We are Albion, let's stick together ...... I will always be Albion but right now it is hard.
