I put about 5 games ago about feeling so sorry for Rondon. Ideye and him are decent strikers. I'm positive if you put Rondon in a Chelsea / arsenal... He'll even a palace or Southampton side. He would get 15+ goals a season. Unfortunately his main focus is now to chase the ball and then secondly worry about the goal.

I. Personal have 0 issue with loads of defenders or trying to nick a goal and win 1 nil (I know a few. Might and that's fair enough) but to have lots of defending players and not keep the ball a bit, or. Not be high intensity, or not to go forward as a team and play higher up the pitch when we have a chance is just upsetting. Sess has played his way in and unfortunately I see him playing Rondon on his own. Soon, with gardener, Evans, yacob and Fletcher in the middle.

We have 1 half chance every other game to score, and we are berating Rondon. If we had Ronaldo up front I think we would of had about 2 extra goals this season

I've read all the posts on today's game with interest, and before anyone comments 'were you at the game', yes I was, having endured a four hour ferry trip through a force 9 gale in the Irish sea surrounded by kids and adults alike throwing up everywhere, followed by a four drive down the M6, a night in a premiere inn, and all to be repeated on Sunday to get home!!. So I'm going to have my say on that performance.
It was shocking, with nothing whatsoever to be positive about. Some players have to go, actually not some, most have to go based that dross today. I've read the posts having sympathy with rondon and the lack of service, which is true, the service is woeful, but believe me he is no 12 million quid striker and I doubt there would be anything better from him if he had Willie Johnston and Laurie Cunningham on either wing feeding him. Olsen and McLean's passing and distribution were to the man every time, unfortunately that man was in claret and blue, and given his cameo today, Berahino's stock is falling by the second, 20 million my arse. It really was like watching apub game, although my local pub team actually try to play football and pass to their own team.
Right, off to bed now to get some much needed sleep before facing another vomit fest on the Irish sea.

I honestly don't think it matters how you watched that today but those of us there today I am ashamed. Had to stop a fight amongst Albion fans 4 on to 1 and that just capped a terrible day.
As baggies fans we know it never comes easy and if we can feck it up we will and we did.
You know I am a TP fan but tonight I am wondering where we are and where we are going. Woeful doesn't even go close. Villa are shit but deserved to win today that's how bad we were.
Don't understand what we were trying to do apart from keep a clean sheet and score from a set peice against the worst team in the league.
My faith is tested tonight and am saying this after a few beers but that was simply not good enough and I think as fans we all deserve an apology and a promise that funds will be invested in a new players to improve the team. TP will keep us up but questions need to be asked at the end of the season because we are not improving and that is not the style or manner of football that I wish to watch.
Doh

For sale............

1 Fat, lazy. cowardly, unfit Berahino.

Will accept a bag of black country scratchings..... Even an opened one.

Looks like the party lifestyle has caught up with the "Fat one".

Honestly....... If you were a scout watching him..........

No way boss .... better prospect`s in league 2.

Every time I criticise Rondon on here, people say it's because he's getting no service - which is also true - but I watch his movement, ball control, heading ability very closely, and he's no more than a Pub player. Yesterday's commentator said when he was subbed that that 50 yard run to the tunnel was the quickest he's run all afternoon!

Didn't some team sign an African player a few years back only to find they'd spent £5m on somebody's brother!? (I think it was George Weah)
Well, I reckon somebody's made the same mistake with Rondon.

Maybe that IS the JP Master Plan, Squirrel - to still 'be there' at the end of THIS season having all funds available, and no new long contracts, for a new man to be able to almost 'start again' next season?
Very similar to you, I still support TP but it's getting harder and harder to justify that loyalty; he hardly does himself any favours with some of his selections - in EVERY game - does he?? We desperately need at least a creative replacement for Mozza before the merrygoround stops  Sick

The bloke clearly can't play up top on his own - simple as that. He doesn't create his own chances and cannot hold the ball reliably enough to regularly bring others into play. That said, when he went off and we had Anichebe and Berahino up front instead, they somehow between them managed to be even worse! Berahino is catching up to Anichebe in size as well, might want to lay off the pies if I were you, Saido!

The truly wretched performers yesterday for me were the midfield though, they literally couldn't even consistently make 10 yard passes or hold onto the ball long enough to move us up the pitch. McClean was back to his usual self and probably would have struggled to cross the sodding road yesterday, let alone cross a ball! And it wouldn't surprise me if Villa made at least double the amount of completed passes and we were very bloody lucky that their strikers were as shit as ours, otherwise we'd be in an absolute meltdown on here talking about taking a whipping at home off possibly the worst Villa side in their history. I doubt even the inclusion of Morrison or Brunt if they were fit would have improved much yesterday to be honest. Pulis and the players let the fans down massively yesterday, and they need to make up for it pronto.

I don't expect many will bother going to the next few home games now though and I can't say I blame them, I'll be watching at home and saving my money until I see some improvement.

The only positive out of a very grim day is that 1 point in that game is simply not enough to give Villa hope for survival, and quite frankly if they can't beat a team playing as poorly as we did I can't see where they will be getting their next 3 points from. Swansea and Newcastle games are absolutely massive for us now. Those will be the games that will define this season for us, either safely nestled in mid table or right back into the thick of a relegation scrap.

Never make things easy on us fans do you, Albion?!

RE: WBA vs Aston Villa - Match Thread - Worldclassalbion - 24-01-2016

What pissed me off more than anything yesterday was WE DIDN'T EVEN PLAY THE LONG BALL!!!!

Now don't get me wrong I hate that style of game and hate the fact that we are labelled a long ball team BUT why didn't we even try it??? I will tell you why..........because we couldn't get the ball off the bottom team in the league and when we did we gave it straight back to them ffs.

WE WERE USELESS and TP was Happy. As for Bratahino he is now bigger than Big Vic, his shorts looked like my bed Sheets. A Lazy fat coward who needs to liaise with his local weight watchers and yet he wants to go to Spurs........Really???? Who would want him. Looks like no one and we are stuck with him.

The fans cheered when he came on, sang his name too. I don't think he deserves any cheering as it obviously didn't make any difference in his attitude to the fans or game.

I always stick up for Rondon but sadly I have to concede he's below average. I would have at least attempted to get Austin or Naismith, both can score goals and have a decent worth ethic and both scored on their debuts.

Mozza needs to punch Bratahino on one of his 5 chins again. #getsomedietchef

I agree with your point however I think you're a little unfair I on pub players!....... having been a pub player myself my ball control and heading ability was better than his and I would have certainly put my head in where it hurts from Gardeners wonderful cross.

And as for Saido shitting out of a 50/50 with Lescott, that is unforgivable.

RE: WBA vs Aston Villa - Match Thread - tidy - 24-01-2016

I'm looking to see just how 'safe' we actually are.

Newcastle, Bournemouth, Norwich and Swansea all looking far better and playing far better than us.

It won't be long before we are dragged into the bottom 3.

I'm actually quite depressed...
