RE: Man City vs WBA - Match Thread - tidy - 21-03-2015 Is it my TV or is Olly actually moving in slow motion? RE: Man City vs WBA - Match Thread - Stairs - 21-03-2015 More evidence of the need for video support to the ref. He should not have made this mistake. But now he is a major talking point when for the sake of 30 seconds the right decision could have been secured - FIFA are total muppets. My favourite sport in the hands of morons. RE: Man City vs WBA - Match Thread - Slick_Footwork - 21-03-2015 I guess by the letter of the law, Dawson's foul is a sending off. However, IMO this is where the ref should show some common sense after 1 minute and book the player, especially as it was a result of our mistake rather than a flowing City move. I think if he'd been booked, nobody would've complained. Instead he's ruined the game and made a complete clown of himself by sending the wrong player off. At least we avoid suspension. He seems to be making quite a few other mistakes in City's favour too. Missed Kompany hauling Saido down, Mangala nearly booting Saido in the face leading up to their 2nd, where Saido would've headed the ball clear and missed Silva's handball in another attack which could've lead to a goal. Hope sent down to League 2 and doesn't come back. The annoying this is, the 2 goals have been gifts. Why Gardner isn't booting the first into row Z is beyond me. Olsson, Mozza and Myhill could've all been more decisive for the 2nd but were either too immobile or too soft. Aim now is just to avoid embarrassment, we really should be making them work for the goals though, not giving them away. RE: Man City vs WBA - Match Thread - St Charles Owl - 21-03-2015 To be fair Slick, whether the challenge was in the firt minute or the 90th, by the letter of the law it was a red card, Bony was through on goal for sure. The only mistake the ref has made is the mistaken identity in sneding off the wrong player, but come Monday morning that red will be switched to Dawson and he will be suspended. I got up at 5.45am to watch this and it certainly killed it as a competitive game, but from a neutral perspective I may get to see a few goals!! ![]() RE: Man City vs WBA - Match Thread - tidy - 21-03-2015 Just looked at the stats on BBC. City 38 shots - 15 on target Albion 0 shots - 0 on target RE: Man City vs WBA - Match Thread - Stairs - 21-03-2015 Just a check on this: The mistaken identity thing means that Albion appeal the red card and McAuley will be free to play next weekend. But - how can they retrospectively punish Dawson. This was an incident seen and dealt with by the ref on the day. I thought that meant no action after the match could take place - case in point that thug Hutton for Villa a few years ago. RE: Man City vs WBA - Match Thread - Stairs - 21-03-2015 Michael Owen is such a tedious bore.......... if the match was not tough enough to watch I have to listen to him drone on and on.... RE: Man City vs WBA - Match Thread - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 21-03-2015 You can hear a pin drop inside the stadium. Even for City fans, this clearly isn't entertaining (though they're no doubt having a happier afternoon than us). How to wreck football as a competitive sport in ten easy steps. RE: Man City vs WBA - Match Thread - tidy - 21-03-2015 Wales wrapping up the 6 nations with a 2nd half demolition of Italy. RE: Man City vs WBA - Match Thread - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 21-03-2015 3-0. Polite applause from City fans. "Best league in the world." Haha. |
