Like Swansea, for all their possession Soton were kept largely away from the danger area - big credit to the players and their work ethic for thatFair comment Drewks, I didn't have time to scroll down all the BBC updates, I only saw the late chances Pelle missed, but I see that we did put a couple over the bar when well placed to score. I am just so relieved to get the three points against what has been a top four side so far this season - a win and a draw against them, four points out of six. RE: WBA vs Southampton - Match Thread - Bournemouth Baggie - 28-02-2015 According to BBC a good reason as to why we kept another clean sheet "Southampton responded with some tidy football but failed to test goalkeeper Fraser Forster " Ben / Fraser Easy mistake to make. RE: WBA vs Southampton - Match Thread - BaggieMan - 28-02-2015 Just back from game and everyone played well with the exception of one player - again Brunt didn't turn up. Other than an excellent clearing header from a Southampton cross from their left, his quality was zero. Crosses were constantly over hit, poor passing etc etc. I just don't know how he keeps getting selected over Poco or indeed anyone who could do a better job. Funny how others who watched the game thought Brunt was one of our best players. Certainly wasn't for me ! RE: WBA vs Southampton - Match Thread - Squirrel Regis - 28-02-2015 Just got back myself, how bloody windy was it ??? Fantastic 1st half could have been 2 or 3 if Dawson or Gardner had taken their chances. 2nd half was far more defensive with the TP iron curtain going up but what a 3 Pts !!! It's my birthday today so am very happy bunny and gonna get plastered ! Boing boing :-) RE: WBA vs Southampton - Match Thread - aries22 - 28-02-2015 (28-02-2015, 19:23)betterthanbaird Wrote: Our defensive record is outrageous. It is! Only the top six clubs and West Ham have a better defensive record than Albion in the Premier League. RE: WBA vs Southampton - Match Thread - Stairs - 28-02-2015 Stunning Tony Pulis. I am totally confident of survival. Hope the talk of striker injury is not founded RE: WBA vs Southampton - Match Thread - valpayne - 28-02-2015 (28-02-2015, 21:22)Squirrel Regis Wrote: Just got back myself, how bloody windy was it ??? Now for the second bit of the prediction against Villa. Happy days. RE: WBA vs Southampton - Match Thread - Suffolk Baggie - 28-02-2015 With other results going for us I reckon todays win is crucial in keeping us up. Well done to TP and the lads RE: WBA vs Southampton - Match Thread - BaggyBomber - 01-03-2015 (28-02-2015, 21:15)TheBaggieMan Wrote: Just back from game and everyone played well with the exception of one player - again Brunt didn't turn up. Other than mis-hitting a couple of left wing crosses, which used to be his forté, I think Brunt had a good game. I am led to understand Pocognoli isn't keen on the tough training régime and appears to have lost his watch. If true, neither of these problems is likely to endear him to a strong disciplinarian like TP. |
