14 clubs and 12 goals in a midfield playing career which rarely saw him gain a secure place in a team.

If he were a stick of rock would you expect to find winner or loser written all the way through?

You could have taken 25 minutes over changing managers and come up with Slaven Bilic like Watford. Compare and contrast. Answers on one side of the paper only. (Did you ever meet anybody who even thought of using the other side of the paper?)

I'd take a punt on the guy Edwards they took from Forest Green, Watford are a point off the top 6 and pressing the panic buttons again. Bilic might make it passed Christmas, I wouldn't bet on him still being there at Easter.

Apparently.......

Bilic turned us down before accepting the Watford job.

RE: Who next? - Devongone - 27-09-2022

I think Edwards might be okay too, but Watford haven't really looked like Watford ...... and their squad is strong enough to be more than on the edge of the race.

Forest Green is a difficult place to recruit from as the club isn't really like anyone else. If you succeed there does that mean you are likely to succeed elsewhere - frankly I dunno. BUT I would have given Edwards time to show what he could do.

What looks like panic buttons behind the scenes to us has kept Udinese in the top-flight in Italy and currently has them as surprise challengers ....... and it gets Watford promotions. I'd back Bilic to be at Watford when next season starts AND to be in the Premiership. Whether he survives the first two defeats is another matter. Edwards did know where he was going to, and he must have known how they behaved when managers didn't hit the ground running. He left the forest where everyone is related to everyone else and they're still trying to get over Dennis Potter for a seat that seems keen to compete with the chair on the Graham Norton Show.

He won't need to worry about getting a mortgage when he wants a family home alongside his next job ........

Several sources seem to be close to confirming it's Fotheringham. Hertha Berlin currently stands 13th in the Bundesliga and has won just once. The club has been a bit unstable over the last few years with Klinnsman leaving as manager after a couple of months, but settling down a bit now, but I can't quite see the attraction of this man, except he's Scottish and Scottish blokes appear quite good at managing football clubs (if you forget all the places they fail completely like everyone else).

Hertha might be struggling but I think fotheringham left before the summer I believe

RE: Who next? - WakeyTerrier - 28-09-2022

It's a bit of a joke that we haven't announced it and yet he's taking training, talk about drip feeding information to the supporters.

RE: Who next? - Lord Snooty - 28-09-2022

Fotheringham it is then.

Fotheringham's barmy army is going to be hard to sing. Something to consider?

RE: Who next? - Devongone - 28-09-2022

Well at least he's got plenty of space in his personal trophy cabinet for you to fill, and he's not John Sheridan or Stevie Bruce.

I must admit I still haven't GOT what makes him the outstanding candidate, but that doesn't mean he isn't. I didn't even know he'd left Hertha, but to be fair in the last few years they've had revolving doors.

It doesn't bode well for the club that he's taking training before the supporters have even been told who has got the job. At Chesterfield supporters have plenty of experience of communication like this. Look where we ended up ........... It sounds as though Mr Fotheringham has way more to do than sort out what happens on the pitch and at training.

I was just thinking that.  Laugh
