RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - St Charles Owl - 05-01-2015 You may be right, but what he does also needs to be effective with the players alongside him and so far this season that maybe hasn't happened. Good players are not only good but make those around them better as well, this season he hasn't done enough of that! RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - madsteve - 05-01-2015 Lee has had one decent performance in a showpiece match. That doesn't excuse the fact that he has been poor this season. He needs to play well in the league against the likes of Forest & Bolton or else he is no use to us. If he had played this season like he played last season then we probably would be top six now. Before he gets a new contract, he needs to play a few match winning performances in the league where it really counts. RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Towinjustonce - 05-01-2015 I think Lee has qualities that did show yesterday. Man City let him have more time and space on the ball to do what he does best. In the championship he is not afforded that time. When playing with Semedo clubs in the championship know he is the main creative player who keeps things ticking over for us and hustle and bustle him out of the game. Hutchinson has an extra dimension than Semedo which allows Lee into the game more when they do play together. He has qualities but hasn't shown it enough this season. He has to learn to cope without Hutch for him to reach the level he got to last season. Lee suffers for this. He seemed to understudy for McGugan recently but got a start again as soon as he left. Semedo has had an extended run as Hutchinson's understudy. RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Statesideowl - 05-01-2015 I've just read that we have Andy D'urso to referee the Forest game, not sure why but this name doesn't sound good. 4th official is a Deadman ![]() RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Thurnscoe_OWL - 05-01-2015 (05-01-2015, 18:51)Statesideowl Wrote: I've just read that we have Andy D'urso to referee the Forest game, not sure why but this name doesn't sound good. The problem is also compounded by the fact that no only does SG insist on 442, but when we play 442 Semedo is the only midfielder we have who is capable of being that anchor that every midfield needs!! Lee can get forward in the knowledge that Semedo will be behind him, but Semedo offers little in support of the attack, so it is left up to Lee to provide this and I think that leaves Lee in two minds some of the time and he seems hesitant to do what he really wants and he opts for the safe play instead. RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Statesideowl - 06-01-2015 Mignolet mistake again for Liverpool. If they're desperate for Westwood they should be held to ransom! Everyone we play there is playing outside of their preferred position. Maghoma prefers to play in the centre of a 3 in a 4231, Maguire & Lavery are strikers and Helan is left back. Palmer is the closest we have to a winger but he plays at RB. Put all this together & you really wonder why we persist with a rigid 442 with two wingers. Surely 352, 4231 or 433 make more sense. In fact, with the players we have available, these formations would probably suit us better |
