Diagne on for Robinson. Surely it should have been Snodgrass coming off because be was anonymous in the first half.

I think it’s effort, aggression and commitment. If they show those, I think we’d all forgive the lack of talent

Poor poor poor defending

That reminded me of the Pulis days with a game of two halves. The first half was fecking dreadful but the second half was a big improvement and we should have gone on to win.

I thought Diagne did well. He needs time to settle and adjust to his new teammates but there is potential there.

I thought he added a presence that made it a lot less comfortable for the defenders. The one thing that did strike me was that, for a big lad, he won nothing in the air. Hopefully, just a blip.

Get Liversalts out the team. We desperately need a captain on the pitch, and he's just anonymous. Nance Gibbs is ok in the Championship, but that's about it. Diagne gave us a great boost, and we stand a very very faint chance with him as a targetman + scorer.
Bartley gives his all, and had a 7/10 game, but most others were very Championship.

I said at half time that I thought it would be a draw, because you just see this happening time and time again when a team doesn't capitalise on their 1st half dominance...

Diagne coming on made a huge difference. A proper striker, a focal point and someone that would fight to recover the ball. Looked head and shoulders above the rest of the team on the ball too.

IMO we were crying out for a proper no9 in the summer - along with full back and defensive midfield - and Bilic opted to sign 3 winger come forwards in Robbo, Grady and Grant...

And while I'm a bit fan of Robinson, we clearly saw the difference of having a proper focal point up top in the 2nd half...

Unfortunately, when we got in front, we were not good enough to see the game off. Fulham continued to dominate the middle of park with their extra quality in there. Ajayi and Furlong were overloaded 3 on 2 for the goal because we don't have a midfielder at the club who can sniff danger and sit in.

It felt like it was coming...

I believe Big Sam has the ability to identify what we need to be competitive, as he's a proven Premier League manager. His 2 signings have already made a difference. Unfortunately, we are still desperately short in Premier League quality personnel. I believe we need at least 4 more to be really competitive - defensive mid, centre half and 2 full backs - and there's no way we will get that.

It remains about salvaging pride. Another collapse from a winning position shows why relegation is inevitable. But at least we actually got bodies in the box 2nd half and showed something.
