Carlos is going to have to earn his money this season. His style, tempo and managerial abilities are now known in this league. We have a good enough midfield, and a forward line that should be scoring really. Still need that Winger & LB IMO and at the rate Hunt is going lets get another one of those too please.

This season is going to be nothing like last season. Clubs like Newcastle & Villa feel they don't belong down here, and are willing to chuck stupid money around. Which means, as we're on a shoe string budget by comparison. These players need to step up too, not just Carlos.

Kodija has joined Villa for £11m, rising to £15m.

We are into silly money now for second tier but this is a great signing for Villa & will make them a good bet for promotion.

35 goals in 81 games for his career, not great but not too bad.

This is where we see the gap isn't it? Burton Albion & Aston Villa in the same league. One can afford to drop 11M on a single player, the other would breach FFP should they do it.

reaffirms my belief the big Clubs can and will spend whatever it takes to get back on to daddy war buck's payroll.

The only positive I can see here is that smaller Clubs ( depending on their financial situation) can finally gouge the larger Clubs for transfer fee's.

Clearly isn't "FAIR."

However, Bristol City can now bring in half a team at £2m each to make them a top half team & push them towards the top six.

FFP just favours teams on parachute payments.

So Villa have now spent 23m on two forwards!!!! We cannot hope to compete with this level of spending. FFP is a great idea to prevent clubs from overspending but it restricts those clubs who have the money via a wealthy owner to compete with the relegated teams. I would imagine with more and more Championship clubs now having wealthy owners we may see a push for further changes to the FFP rules.

Players with a fighting spirit and who have pride in the jersey cost nothing, lets hope CC can get that out off our players who do have talent and we won't be far away.

Wolves & QPR have made signings whilst Nelson Oliveira goes to Norwich.

I think we should have signed him before we moved for Fletcher personally.
