RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - 5th August - WBA-Josh - 06-08-2019 (06-08-2019, 19:01)Salopbaggie Wrote: One from the left wing, apparently Wayne Rooney is looking to return to the UK in a player/coach role after netting 25 in 41 for DC United. He is allegedly talking to Derby at present. Would he be any use to us? Rooney has now joined Derby starting from January. Kemar Roofe has joined Anderlecht in Belgium from Leeds. I hope he enjoys playing for Vincent Kompany. From what I saw of Anderlecht in their friendly with Hamburg a couple of weeks ago, Kompany wants them to play a very similar style to that of Man City. They played with a false 9 in a 433 but Roofe could be a good fit for either the central striker role where he’ll have he freedom to float around like a false 9 or as the left forward in the system. RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - 5th August - Beefy 1965 - 06-08-2019 Gayle not coming by the looks of it , Ajeti not coming , I hear Plan C is Scott Hogan

RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - 5th August - WBA-Josh - 06-08-2019 Mixed reports about Hogan. Some saying that we want him and others saying that he is going to be joining Stoke on loan. He only scored twice last season in 14 league matches at Villa and Sheffield United last season and 6 in 37 the season before in the Championship. Not a great recent record. Is only 5 foot 11 so clearly an alternative to Gayle. RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - 5th August - Slick_Footwork - 06-08-2019 (06-08-2019, 22:14)Beefy 1965 Wrote: Gayle not coming by the looks of it , Ajeti not coming , Although he wouldn't be anywhere near my first choice, I think Hogan would be an improvement on what we have got if fit. With Brentford he showed he was a threat with a team who counter quickly. He scored lots of goals on the shoulder but also combined that with a poachers instinct that neither HRK or Zohore have. At Villa he was plagued with injury and not helped by the plodder football they played under Bruce. Maybe it didn't show him to the best of his ability. But would represent a last resort option compared to the other names, but I think he might surprise and do okay for us if he did come in. RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - 5th August - Blue Baggie - 06-08-2019 Hogan gone to Stoke thank heavens, Ajeti waiting for the Seals or WHU to make him an offer. Rooney signed up fro the Rams - but not turning up until November? I would think we have a couple strikers we are working on. We are known for pulling rabbits out of the hat at the last moment. With agents and players trying to get the maximum returns it's all about holding your nerve at this late a stage. Personally Ajeti we should tell to get lost - he's just money hunting. I don't want people like that at our club. Good honest committed players are what we need, I'm tired of these money first type of players. We had enough of them over the last few seasons. Even several of our loans have just taken the cash and give very little in return. RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - 5th August - Beefy 1965 - 06-08-2019 #avfc striker Scott Hogan is closing in on a loan move to Stoke City. #scfc . Villa have options lined up to replace him @TheAthleticUK has been told. RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - 5th August - WBA-Josh - 07-08-2019 Update on the Gayle situation. https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/west-bromwich-albion/2019/08/07/newcastle-tell-west-brom-no-loan-for-dwight-gayle/ RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - 5th August - Blue Baggie - 07-08-2019 Push Edwards up top and get Tulloch warmed up. Have we forgotten we don't need people to make the numbers up. I'm tired of all transfer BS it's gone beyond my interest now. Dowling has done 2 good signings tbf. Reduced the headcount and the overhead and a surplus on transfer fees - job done.
