Bit of a fumbled goal for Phillips

Phillips 1-3 been all over them the last 20 mins
Why couldn't we have done this from the start Angry

Zohore what a waste of xxxx money
Only had to trap the ball for a tap in
3-2 would have been game on Angry

I’m not sure if you combined Austin and Zohore you’d make even half a striker

He's just missed a one on one now
Could have had four this half Doh

I watched the game until just before their first goal. I wasn't impressed.

As someone has already said if we play like this against one of the Premiership's poorer teams, we may as well stay where we are.

Clearly promotion is our main priority but, money apart, is it worth it?

I think if we had put our 1sr team out we could have beaten them.

Clawed back a bit of self-respect in the end. If we'd played with that kind of fluency and creativity before gifting them three goals then it would have been an interesting cup tie.

Playing Brunt and Barry killed us. Krovinovic changed it up, he got Edwards firing and Tulloch added a spark. It bodes well going forward particularly if we can get Diangana back soon but, Jesus, how bad are our “strikers”

I will be the 1st and probably the only person to say this. Bilic threw that game away. We could have won that game IMO.

Blimey - loads of negativity on here; I just saw a Championship side make 9 changes and go toe to toe with a Premier League side's first team and JUST get beaten.
I definitely think playing Brunt (has he ever had a worse game) and Barry together was a mistake, but I've got to say that I was pretty impressed with all our youngsters.
Agree that our strikers look very ordinary but, all in all, I think we did well, particularly when Krovinovic came on and looked a class act. I liked the style of our play, looking for the triangles and playing the angles well.

I'm obviously in a minority but, although we lost and Newcastle JUST about deserved it, I'm going to bed a relatively happy bunny Thumb up
