Playing Ok today. Annoying about the peno but hopefully we can push on to get that vital goal.

Well done Alan, you've wasted 45 mins of football against an awful side by picking 5 centre mids and not one player in the 11 with any pace. Forget the penalty miss, if you are planning to win games by penalties then you deserve to miss them.

Hull are there for the taking, they are shocking, but we have nobody who can stretch them or get in behind due to woeful selection from an incompetent head coach.

VARELA IS NOT MATCH FIT TO START YET!

The next best bet is Berahino out there however Dorrans out there makes sense at the moment to stop Elmohamady and his roaring runs from right back.

We will see Varela come on in the 2nd half probably at the 65th minute mark.

Half time and it has been ok so far. We have defended well and moved the ball well when in possession. We should really be 1-0 up but Dorrans' penalty was poor.

0-0 is the worst possible result in this one, if we don't win its a disaster but if we don't lose then Mr. Handbrake keeps his job Doh

A 0-0 will be ok as it will stop the rot but a win will be so much better and relieve a lot of pressure.

I would look at bringing on Ideye or Berahino for Anichebe and Varela on for one of the 3 central midfielders at the 65th-70th minute mark to inject some pace against tired Hull legs.
Some of our players need to spend some time working on their first touches. Mulumbu, Gardner and Dorrans have all given the ball away a couple of times because of poor first touches.

Josh no need for the exclamation mark my friend. 2 things though..... How do you know hes not? And 2 so what?? Start him, get an early lead and take him off when he tires instead of when we are losing and chasing the game.

No bite upfront + no width + no pace = our defence playing perfectly or we lose.

Ridiculous!

How can the plank not tell we are crying out for a change?

RE: Hull vs WBA - Match Thread - WBA-Josh - 06-12-2014

The exclamation mark was in response to your exclamation mark after Varela.

He can't be match fit after only having 30 minutes of competitive football, that is basic football sense, and because he is not yet match fit, he won't be able to last that long if he did start the match. Your logic about starting him and then bringing him off when he tires is not a 100% guarantee because as this first half showed, the match is a close encounter and Varela would be a passenger in it.
Now Varela is ready come on and it is at the perfect time to change the game.

Varela on BUT for Sessegnon FFS.

Josh i'm not gonna argue, mine was aimed at AI yours was aimed at me. Why not start him? And take him off after we are winning and he tires. I Think i make s good point
