Saw that Snoots Doh

Anyroad - it seems I was't the only one having a celebratory drink on the trains back home last night.

The smile didn't really leave my face after Wemberlee and it got a whole lot broader yesterday. The one thing that most promoted teams lack is a goal scorer and as Jug Lugs and and Shearer mentioned on MOTD (2nd on? that won't last surely) we look to have got one in Mounié. Not only can he score goals, he can win headers in our own box from corners and free kicks too!! Our back four must absolutely love him. We are going to have to keep him fit but so far £11 million well spent Mr. 'oyle Thumb up

Defensively - just awesome. We kept Benteke and Zaha quiet for most of the match. When we didn't they left their shooting boots at home. Lösl pulled off a great save for one of their few that actualy went on target as mentioned by sloppy above. The rest either hit a camera man, a steward or knocked ice creams out of kids hands in Row Z. Smithy had his hands full with Zaha (who doesn't?) and will have far less to deal with against some other sides. Led the side well. Löwe did his bit on the other wing and helped Smithy out with a great cover tackle when Zaha got the better of Smithy in the second half. They both got forward on a regular basis to give Palace something to think about in defence.

Midfield  - 'he's got no hair but we don't care' the £8 million pound man wove his magic again. Cool A corner and a deadly cross, bang, 2 up in 5 minutes. He revelled in it. Incy? Started a bit further up field but finished a bit deeper, worked his socks off to create chances and stop them getting through. On another day he would have bagged one for himself.

Up front -  a great debut from Monié, led the line well, pressed from the front, defended well at set pieces. Set 'em up, he knocks 'em in for fun.

All in all, another great day out in that there Larndan Tarn. Just a shame my radio could only pick up Radio Larndan commentary and not Oggy. Can't have everything I suppose. Laugh

Couple of injuries too. Think they'll play like last season and try hit us on the break again.

I hope they do, we'll be significantly less toothless up front with our new boys.

Mounie scored two and missed two easier chances. Last season nahki would have needed possibly double that to get one. Not a slight on nahki, its just the difference in height and quality, make no mistake he's a good player and livened up in regards to his all round game back end of last season, but mounie is a whole different animal. Depoitre looks like the player we've been crying out for the last 5 years or so, mounie is a player we could only dream about back then, pace, power ect

A word for Big Phil yesterday. Absolutely outstanding and stepped up when he was called upon. Some said he needed to be loaned out but he showed yesterday why that isn't an option.
