It was always going to be a borefest ![]() ![]() ![]() Which it is now ![]() RE: Town v Wednesday Play offs 1st leg thread - Imre varadi - 14-05-2017 Newcastle would have been a good shout snoots ! Nearer for yourselfs with 70,000 seats which we would have sold easy ! RE: Town v Wednesday Play offs 1st leg thread - theo_luddite - 14-05-2017 Knowing the EFL it would have been in Mancland or Vanilla http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p052xbwc Wells says the obvious In my opinion leave it be. 50,000 plus proper fans get to see at least one game rather than shoving us up the A1, down the M1/M6 or over the M62 and half the fans that have been there done that all season can't make it. Newcastle/Blunderland/Boro ain't any better than Wembley for me and would either of us really want to play at the Beeston Skip? RE: Town v Wednesday Play offs 1st leg thread - Maddix - 14-05-2017 Could be worse Theo, the RFL would pick Blackpool ![]() RE: Town v Wednesday Play offs 1st leg thread - Lord Snooty - 14-05-2017 Not a bad idea, Maddix. Copying other sports could be the way forward. How about doing like the cricket t20 finals day. Play the two semis in the morning and afternoon and then the final in the evening. All at Wembley Stadium in the same day. I'll get the email off to Sky Sports right away. ![]() RE: Town v Wednesday Play offs 1st leg thread - sloppyattheback - 15-05-2017 4 clubs in one venue = carnage ! RE: Town v Wednesday Play offs 1st leg thread - WakeyTerrier - 15-05-2017 It's fine as it is, maybe bring the away goals rule back but not to be included in extra time. RE: Town v Wednesday Play offs 1st leg thread - EastLondonTerrier - 15-05-2017 Please don't sit there and tell me Wagner would have said park the bus against you at Wednesday. We would have played a more compact formation but we would have attacked and gone for the goals. All Wednesday did was park the bus and foul us all game. After that showing, I really hope if it isn't us its Fulham. All that money and that squad and they don't attack all game against little old Huddersfield. Couldn't have asked of anything more from the lads yesterday. Everyone played well. Hef & Schindler were outstanding. Hoggy or Mooy probably my MOTM. Great to see Kache back to his best although he faded a bit in the second half but to be expected. We need to get more bodies in the box and get Lowe more on the ball in the second leg. Have a feeling this game will go to penalties. Jordan Rhodes looks absolutely wasted in that Wednesday team. Such a shame. RE: Town v Wednesday Play offs 1st leg thread - Terrier1987cas - 15-05-2017 People seem a little bitter on here and I don't get why. What Wednesday did wasn't a surprise - they did it against us earlier in the season and got a deserved win. Yesterday we defended a lot better when they (sparingly) tried to transition to counter so it finished 0-0. We played well but ultimately couldn't break them down so that's on us - Wednesday had every right to come and play for a 0-0 and they now go into the second leg as favourites. Fair play to them, just because they're part of the modern shit part of football (trying to buy success) it doesn't mean they automatically have to attack every game. As for the second leg, it will be cagey again. They won't be too expansive and we'll be more defensive minded. Their fans are much more expectant and much less patient than us - if we can get an early goal or get on top at all early on they'll turn and home advantage will effectively mean nothing. We have to be sensible, defend well and counter at speed, and we're more than capable of that. Leave Wednesday alone though, nothing wrong with what they did. I wouldn't want to pay what their shit owners charge to watch such dull football, but they're entitled to that if they want and it worked. RE: Town v Wednesday Play offs 1st leg thread - WakeyTerrier - 15-05-2017 Is it just me then that thinks Wednesday came to win it but couldn't get a foothold in the game. They clearly came and started 442 and even rotated the strikers in a attempt to win it. Yes they were solid and didn't do too much attacking but I thinks that's more down to how we played rather than the tactics of CC |
