RE: Saint Mirren v Hibs, Wed 1 Mar, KO 7.45pm - hibeejim21 - 01-03-2017 Well that's it - its a short term loan in all but name. Just call it that. Lennon's right though,we could have overspent seriously and brought in loads of players in January. But that goes against the kind of strategy that dempster and lennon want for the club. We've used the loan system within the rules (in fact exactly what its there for) to put out a competitive side and avoid overspending. I think if we go up the manager will stay with us. RE: Saint Mirren v Hibs, Wed 1 Mar, KO 7.45pm - 0762 - 01-03-2017 I totally agree and note Lenny vigorously joining in this debate/criticism in today's EEN - effectively telling the various 'complainers' to 'shut it' and 'get a life' - as already said: no rules or laws broken by Hibs FC and other clubs can practise in exactly the same way!!!! Lenny's advantage is the fact he has good associations and contacts to acquire decent players from elsewhere and I think this is more of an issue for certain complainants who don't hold such a benefit. RE: Saint Mirren v Hibs, Wed 1 Mar, KO 7.45pm - HerefordBull - 01-03-2017 I agree.....no rules broken......we just have the money, and suppose fortunate to be in the Championship. Would have been interesting to see what we would have done if in the premier league......suppose if it was on the cards we would have had our hands forced to get someone in during the January transfer window as other clubs had to who cannot use this system.( Teams are only allowed 4 loan players and obviously no emergency loans in the SPL) RE: Saint Mirren v Hibs, Wed 1 Mar, KO 7.45pm - 0762 - 01-03-2017 I've no doubt Hibs would follow the set rules if they had been in the SPL. The only thing I would add to this debate is the fact that Hibs are certainly more 'streetwise' when it comes to dealing with this kinda stuff and why not eh! RE: Saint Mirren v Hibs, Wed 1 Mar, KO 7.45pm - HerefordBull - 01-03-2017 Half time ..............St Mirren1 : 0 Hibernian. Hibs are poor, again, and St Mirren deserve their lead. Fabulous ball through on their left for the goal. Just as on Saturday we concede within a minute of the start of the second half......and there I was thinking Lennon introduced the players to each other at halftime. End up losing 2:0 and should have conceded 4 or 5 just as on Saturday. St Mirren fought and played well and deserved this. If Ayr press high and give it a go on Saturday , you never know ![]() .....bloody Cup.....replay against Ayr anyone, just what we need.. ![]() Where are the younger players Lennon.....they at least would play with some desire and passion and better than what we are seeing from super John McGinn and co.....Fyvie ![]() ![]() RE: Saint Mirren v Hibs, Wed 1 Mar, KO 7.45pm - hibeejim21 - 02-03-2017 An abject showing the night. Have we played as bad as that all season ? St mirren could easily have had 4 or 5. Seriously concerned about the last quarter of the season now. I just don't believe a lot of these players have the balls to 'do the business' for us in the league. Lennons tried everything with this squad, destroying them, praising them to the heavens, protecting them .... where else can we go ? My fear is now that last seasons collapse will return. These players don't show any signs of learning, the only time recently they have gave a shit was in the cup games. Why are the players not up for the league games ? Stubbs couldn't find the answer and I'm starting to doubt that lennon can either. RE: Saint Mirren v Hibs, Wed 1 Mar, KO 7.45pm - ritchiebaby - 02-03-2017 There must be a virus going around Easter Road. The one that causes Hibs players to lose interest in games involving "lesser" teams. We've lost 3 games in the Championship this season - Dundee United away (fair enough), Ayr United at home (extenuating circumstances, but still avoidable) and St Mirren away (poor performance). The last two teams are 9th and 10th in the league and added to the fact that we've already lost at home to both Queen of the South in the League Cup and St Mirren in the Challenge Cup proves hibeejim's point about a collapse. As he says, it's not a new problem. Terry Butcher, although still culpable, suffered from it in our relegation season both in the league fixtures and the second play-off game where we thought we just had to turn up to win. ![]() |
