RE: WBA vs Stoke - Match Thread - BaggieMan - 05-02-2017 Living in the Staffordshire Moorlands with Stoke-on-Trent just 15 miles down the road, I have to say that our 1-0 win yesterday has given me more satisfaction than any game for a long time. Most of my mates around here are Sjokies and I've been getting 'Fato Biryani' stick since he joined Sjoke and how they, with him, were going to annihilate us with a good whupping. Thank the Lord (sorry Vic) we are now seven points above the Clayheads and I'm a very happy Baggieman! ![]() RE: WBA vs Stoke - Match Thread - GlassEyedBomber - 05-02-2017 (04-02-2017, 23:13)The Quantum Enigma Wrote:(04-02-2017, 21:12)Beefy 1965 Wrote: Are all Stoke just liars Oh... He is saying that he and Stoke City knew of the 8 week FA ban, because Albion were upfront about it, but he's asking how it got out into the public domain via the Press. The wording of his interview yesterday appears to exonerate Albion, and at the same time lay the blame at Albion's door, but what he fails to acknowledge is that the leak could have come from someone at Stoke City. The fact that Albion managed to keep the ban hush-hush for weeks and months, but suddenly it all comes out in the papers after the transfer goes through, leads me to question Stoke City, and I would suggest Mark Hughes focuses his enquiries there. Kevin Phillips scored 22 league goals (Miller 9, Bednar 13, Beattie 3) but Morrison, Gera, Brunt and Texeira, Robert Koren and Jonno ("the best midfield in the world", lol) chipped in with 32 goals (with one by Do Heon). The defenders got 7 and OG 2, total 88. So - attack scored 47 goals, MF 32, a ratio of 3:2. If we can replicate that sort of ratio in the PL, I'll be happy. I don't have the current numbers to hand, sorry. And we won't score 88 goals in the PL. ![]() RE: WBA vs Stoke - Match Thread - 4evaabaggie - 05-02-2017 Aries22, very good point, well made, why would we keep it hush hush, tell them upfront and then spill the beans when he is no longer our problem ..... maybe a disgruntled player wanting to leave his club has decided to cause bother ...... no that never happens ..... does it. The season when Odemwingie scored fifteen goals, we also had four from Mozza, one from Brunty, three from Jerome Thomas, one from Dorrans, six from Mulumbu and four from Scharner. Those last two in particular are an eye-opener; imagine Fletcher and Yacob giving us ten goals between them in a season! |
